Oregon beat Nebraska in both football and volleyball this year, so . . . . The football loss was because our knucklehead former athletic director hired Oregon State's football coach. Predictable result in Eugene in September. Happily, that situation has been remedied. We'll just forget about the volleyball loss....

Errors involving "its" vs. "it's" Also: there, their, they're "team chemistry" "jumps out of the gym" "It is what it is" "You get a great education at Stanford" "Volleyball IQ" "student of the game" "soft hands" "best" (as in "best setter") "Top" (as in "Top outside hitters") "winningest" However, I would like the users of this forum to make more use of the words "takedown" and "blood." Anybody want to give me a $50 Amazon gift card as a late Christmas gift so that I can buy Horizon Zero Dawn and Bloodborne? You'll be my BFF and I'll "like" every single one of your posts for all of 2018, "follow" you, agree with all your arguments, and laugh at all your jokes. Everyone has a price. Mine is $50. (Well, $20, technically.) Bloodborne will break you.

I am an avid user and protector of using bro in place of libero. Especially when talking. Flows much better. Plus, I feel like it represents the mindset and demeanor of a lot of liberos. I’m probably in the minority, but that’s ok. Off topic, but I still want to know whether it's LEE-bi-ro (as Karch Coach Kiraly says it) or li-BEAR-oh. I believe the Italian pronunciation is lee-buh-row

"In my opinion" "IMO" "IMHO" "IMexceedinglyHO" LOL...ditto plus "platform" - not sure why, but that word gets on my nerves. Oh, and since I watch a lot of B1G matches on TV, I'll add "Lets...Go...State......P...S...U" or whatever they say like that every freakin' point.

"Stud" is a compliment, having lost its gender-specific origins.
Words or phrases to go away:
"I don't know who that is."
"Russ is retiring"
"Coach-in-waiting"
"They don't rebuild, they reload."

Referring to female athletes as "studs." Is there an opposite sex term for studs? GO HUSKERS Brood mare. I don't think that's gonna stick.

I'm actually not a fan of the modern "hip" way of abbreviating people's names, e.g., JLo, JMac. We should all just stop.
