Wow. Ocala Power clinches the first bid in Nashville. Would not have predicted that... I thought they were pretty solid across the board and at times they were on fire... Annie Fitzpatrick ('20, PSU) is a real talent, as is Marlie Monserez ('18, Florida). It seemed like they were among the smaller teams overall, a bunch of six footers mostly (one taller RS/MB, name escapes me, going to Florida???) that were very good all around players. I was super impressed with Fitzpatrick, what an athlete. They won the matches that mattered. Had a tough gold pool, but got wins against two tough teams in OTVA and Norco to earn the bid. Unfortunately, an injury to another team in OPU's pool caused a lengthy delay and it looked like it was going to result in missed flights for OPU's opponents in the championship match. OPU was asked to play the championship match out of order (basically at the time it was originally scheduled) so that there wouldn't be a forfeit. They refused, despite the availability of an open court and an officiating crew. Luckily, the third place teams agreed to take a tie so that there wouldn't have to be a forfeit for the championship.

Clark is pretty good too, I see she moved to MN Select, much better exposure there, that's for sure.

That was the longest injury delay I have ever witnessed... not sure what the delays was in getting the medical team there, I felt awful for that kid who was clearly in a lot of pain. Things got tough for Norco when they lost a middle a blocker on the last point of the first set vs OPU on day 3. Going three with OPU and OT 18 to finish fifth without either starting middle was pretty solid, but still disappointing. Hope they can get everyone healthy in time for Crossroads.

The other PSU signee I saw was Amanda Phegley - another good one who could end up hitting on a pin.

Legacy takes the bid in Ohio. Aspire and Rage set up a showdown for one bid in Nashville. OPUmwith the inside track on the other. Aspire beats Rage in a close three-setter. Very fun volleyball to watch. Especially when you win. Congrats AZ, see you in Anaheim

The pools are posted for the Triple Crown NIT. This tournament is stacked with great teams in 18s. Aspire plays Munciana, Milwaukee Sting, and Legacy on day one. Crazy.

Crazy. 1) A brief glance at the 18 power pools shows Muncie's 16s are the work team for Muncie's 18s first match and Legacy's 16s are the work team for Legacy's 18s first match. Doesn't mean that much, but possibly a favorable line call here or there 2) The History page of their website says it is moving to Kansas City, Missouri next year.. Do we think all the big California/Texas teams still come and will we see more big name Midwest teams???

I've only ever received yellows or reds..

The way Midwest vb is currently looking I'd say anything is possible...who knows what will happen with a JVA/Sports performance hosted presidents day tournament when the owner is no longer able to coach in jva events. Hopefully vb as a whole will be more United soon
