Mel Gibson made some really good movies when he was young. I agree. Butler should keep his hands off his players, regardless of their age. And I don't care if he married one (which he didn't, but I don't care). I will say, however, apropos of nothing perhaps, that it is NOT easy being a nice guy in this world. Maybe I've mentioned that. Women, generally, aren't interested. Talk about mixed signals. That's been my problem all along.

No idea. I didn’t watch it either, so I was a bit surprise to hear it on the radio (iHeart Radio app)...was mentioned in the Elvis Duran Morning show. It was also reported BBC banned his music, but BBC management refuted the rumor. So therefore I don't think we should lump Rick Butler with MJ like the OP did. There is compelling evidence of Butler's wrongdoing. But MJ? I'm not sure. As they say, innocent until proven guilty.

Haha, that reminds me way back in my high school days. There would always be those popular girls who hang out with jocks and bullies. I asked one of them why they would date a complete jerk and a-hole. They said their "bad guy reputation" appeals to them. Uh-eh. Yet, they are somehow shocked when they are treated like dirt by them. The most laugable thing is that one of them said they are trying to "change him for the better". Hahahaha.

Michael Jackson was obviously a really screwed up person. But it's not so obvious in which ways he was screwed up. He does seem to have had an unusual and possibly dysfunctional attraction to children, but I'm not aware of any real evidence that this was a sexual attraction as opposed to a really strong attraction to the idea of childhood (eg. Peter Pan).
Actually, I may want to walk this back. I had just not paid attention to any of this stuff, really. What I just wrote here could be taken as meaning that I disbelieve the two men who have said Jackson abused them. That's not the case. Actually, I was unaware of their claims until just a few minutes ago.

But it's also true that a lot of "nice guys" go through life somehow expecting women owe them something just because they are not @$$%*!*s. Seems to me that "not @$$%*!*" should be more of a baseline status than something especially deserving of a reward.

Well, I never said normal and decent people with manners and consideration for others deserved an award. Just saying I have no sympathy whatsoever for those girls who choose to be treated like dirt by the jocks. When they complained, I just rolled my eyes.

When MJ sang "Billie Jean is NOT my lover...", I really believed him.

So, is it okay to admire Hitler's watercolors? Or his recordings of Germany's Top of the Charts pop hits of the 1920s?

The boys that girls find attractive fall into the roles they are expected to play (and vice versa). It's also possible that "toxic masculinity" is attractive because the males exhibiting it are the ones who are most likely to succeed in our society. And it's also possible I have no idea what I am talking about.

Y'all are numbnuts and coming up with examples from the movies, not real life.
I've known plenty of nice guys in high school and college who dated beautiful women. I've witnessed and experienced plenty of women pick nice and non-athletic types over brainless jocks. I've also seen women pick arseholes who were non-athletic.
In sum, I've seen women pick men with one or a combination of the following characteristics:
Ugly Handsome Jerkwad Nice Clumsy Athletic Tall Short Fat Skinny Pizza face Smooth as silk skin Bearded Clean-shaven Smelly Fragrant Weak Strong

Only thoughts on MJ is that he released good songs, and seemed a bit weird. And his sister Janet was certainly hot back in those days!

Hitler didn't seduce young boys. I watched the "After Neverland" thing until it just got too extreme/graphic/bizarre. I have no doubt that MJ seduced the two individuals who made accusations on the special. For the rest of us, it's a great example of mass suspension of disbelief.
