Is this the Don Knotts movie where he shows up as a talking fish? I saw that one.

Yes, that's the one. Except Don Knotts isn't in it and there's no talking fish.

The music in this show is to die for. Very good acting, costuming. Too many F bombs dropped, IMO.
Do Jewish people feel they are being stereotyped in this show. The parents are hysterical.

Too many F bombs dropped, IMO. Um ... Lenny Bruce is a character in this show, right? I mean, THE Lenny Bruce?

Yes. That Lenny Bruce. Not played by Lenny Bruce. ;) Yeah, it would probably be pretty boring if he actually played himself. He's not as expressive now as he used to be.

Minor character. If he was the main character, he'd be leading the bombing.
The language, imo, is integral to what the show is about. So far anyhow. Rachel Brosnahan is terrific. As is Tony Shalhoub.

While I wasn't there at the time, I suspect the coarse language in Mrs. Maisel is representative of the reality of Downtown NYC in the 1950s. My take is that Mrs. Maisel's Jewish stereotypes were not the negative ones that would have angered or saddened people. My 80-something Jewish parents thought it was hysterical too.

While I wasn't there at the time, I suspect the coarse language in Mrs. Maisel is representative of the reality of Downtown NYC in the 1950s. Now, too. People curse in front of eight-year olds and think nothing of it. I don't care for it, but it's not as if you're going to clean up a sewer any quicker than one person at a time. P. S. Rachel is to goyim like me what I imagine blonde-haired, blue-eyed shiksas to be to Jewish guys...
