Off the top of my head, the list of UCSB alumni DI coaches includes: Dave Shoji, Mike Hebert, Jim McLaughlin, Jose "Keno" Gandara, Jon Wallace, Lee Nelson, John Kosty, Todd Rogers, Gary Sato, Jon Stevenson, . . . Add Aaron Mansfield, LMU HC.

How about the University of USA VOLLEYBALL? Nah- those are just high level players and there is no correlation to them becoming high level coaches🙃

What's the % of said named coaches who were setters at some point? Karch ran a true 6/2 at UCLA if I'm not mistaken?

University of Washington in the last 20 years has produced at least 7 that I can think of... Tui, Sanja Tomasevic, Stevie Mussie, Tama Miayshiro, Kindra Carlson, Krista Vansant. Brie Hagerty (Brenner) is the HC at Defiance College. Ball State has at least 12 graduates in coaching that are men, so having a men's program seems to be an asset. Considering how many coaches are men and how few men's programs there are, I'd say it's near essential.

Not sure of quantity, but they sure have led on the innovation front, like passing while standing on your head without using your arms (only your face) ...

Does anyone know which school has the most alums that are college volleyball coaches? I thought of Penn State (Brown, D'Errico, Schumacher-Cawley, just to name a few), but no clue if they have the most. I think this thread is best titled: “Schools that produce volleyball coaches other than UCLA.”

Ball State. Don, Dave, and Steve Shondell, Kelly Sheffield, Craig Skinner, Mick Haley, Sherry Dunbar-Kruzan, Pete Hanson (tOSU men), Pete Waite, Chris Beerman (Kentucky AC & Pitt HC), Kevin Furnish (Ball State men's AC), Kevin Laseau (Yale AC), Ethan Pheister (LSU AC).... And that's just D1 college, the ones that are easily googleable. Scores of others, plus HS and club coaches also come from Ball State. It's a VB coaching factory. Don't forget Jim Stone (USA 18- Head Coach, former OSU coach)
