How many line ups do you think Jerritt will try until he gets to the final one? He has big games before the big 12, which is not much. I'm both scared and very excited but mostly scared for pre season. Interestingly, there is no Orange-White game listed in the schedule for this Fall. Of course, that could change and then it would suddenly show up in the online schedule.

The free youth clinic is in itself a great promotional tool for the sport. If for some reason the scrimmage did not take place, Texas fans would have to wait more than 80 days from today before they got to see their team at home for the first time. That being a match with San Marcos er Texas State.

Don't know when it was listed on the schedule last year, but a quick search showed no announcements about the 2017 scrimmage until less than two weeks before it was played.

Congrats to Logan for being named Captain of the WJNT! I can’t wait to see how Logans college career goes, she seems so determined and focused to be a great volleyball player.

Who besides Logan (now) and Holloway at Nebraska skipped high school?
NOT a good trend, btw, if you ask me. Which you didn't.

Also there have been a number of players enrolling early (skipping the spring semester of their senior year) for years now. Is it a significant difference skipping the spring semester of the senior year and the entire senior year?
Why do you not consider it good?

That's why I asked if there had been others. It is not a good trend, should it become one.
HOWEVER, I am not one who thinks one size fits all. Individuals need to make the decisions for themselves. What I don't like, also however, is that most of these anomalies started with a certain program. THAT IS a trend I pay attention to.
As for why I don't think it's a good thing, it has to do with who is making these decisions -- and that includes skipping the 2nd half of their senior year and enrolling early. If the athlete is pressured to make this choice, it is very, very bad. IMO.
(And I'll repeat: I do not know if that was the case here. I assume it was not.)

I know of a handful of others, but not in volleyball.
I don't think it becomes a trend. It's something that you need to decide to do early in high school in order to complete sufficient credits in three years. In Logan's case, she was already planning on being an early enrollee in the spring. Otherwise it wouldn't have been a practical idea this past spring. I really doubt she was pressured into doing this. I think most likely she was presented with the idea (or it could have been her that initiated the idea) and she decided it was something she could and wanted to do. Also it had one additional benefit for her. She was able to go with the team to Europe in May. Not a bad graduation trip.
A couple more reasons why I don't see this becoming a trend. First the player has to be ready to play at the college level. Doesn't make much sense to graduate a year early and then redshirt. Second the school has to have a scholarship available.

Like certain programs who accept verbal commitments from 8th and 9th graders?

This is what I am talking about.
