AFAIK, there was only 1 U.S. libero playing professionally this year. While there are many good ones around, not all of them are pursuing volleyball and signing up for NT duty. yeah, but why not bring in girls that are currently in college? Hentz, White, Maloney, Clark, Sauer, Lake in no particular order have much better reception skills than Knop. Get some young ones back in the gym like they did back in the day. Although not liberos, early reps at a young age for Akinradewo and Tom paid off

I see Courtney is back to being an OH, I guess the experiment with her being a libero didn't pan out as hoped. But I bet JWO, Benson and Knopp is glad about that...

Caroline Knop? Wtf? Maybe she’ll be a better international player than college True, she is not the most obvious choice to fill that position. Wonder what Karch sees in her? In any case, we will find out whether she can cut it on the international stage soon enough...

Timing is not great for incorporating new players.

When Courtney was put in as libero my thought was he was ramping up back row defense to bring that up to speed quickly so that she would be more effective six rotation player at next go round...

This roster is so, so, so sad. For the fans and the athletes. What would your roster look like? Well first, this isn't a roster. It's a preliminary preliminary roster, an incredibly stupid concept. USAV threw out an incomplete cookie-cutter roster because they're playing catch-up with nearly every other country that has already released their rosters. Breadcrumbs. And they'll get away with it. If we weren't going to announce the actual preliminary roster because all of our athletes aren't in the gym yet and everyone hasn't finalized their return dates, fine. That makes sense. Logistics. I get it. But don't attempt to manufacture fake excitement around an event that you've done nothing to promote by releasing a carbon copy of the 2017 gym dotted with a couple new faces. Take the time and do it right. There is nothing exciting about this group. And let's remember: there are FIVE weeks of pool play in this new format. Five weeks. We're seriously going to send Olympians and other veterans around the world when we could be giving those valuable touches to new athletes? Instead our plan is to send them to Pan Ams so they can destroy teams 25-4, 25-7, 25-9 every match? I'm just so incredibly disappointed by the lack of new talent, especially considering the athletic potential of the recent class of NCAA seniors and the relative lack of success after the roster choices last summer. Washington, Lee, Alhassan, Snyder, Agost, Anae, Toliver, Garvelink, Sponcil, A. Rolfzen, Ajanaku, Cuttino...? Albrecht gets cut after a one-week tryout before anyone else even gets back...? No current NCAA kids like Poulter, Foecke, Lanier, Edmond, Plummer, Rettke, Lake, Hentz? That's the future, man. Just so baffling. One last thing: I hope Kadie was added because she has a future with the NT and not because we're hosting the first weekend in Nebraska. It was absolutely a mistake to cut her from the gym so early last summer, so I hope she's going to get a real shot now. Amber deserves one too, IMO, especially if players like McCage, Dannemiller, and Whitney keep making "rosters." Only 7 athletes of color too, btw. We took 8 to London... on a 12-man roster.

A while ago I suggested that mr. Kiraly should invite Knop to train with the NT and folks replied: "I'm still trying to digest this!". LOL!. Look where she is - on the VNL roster. I told you she is a fighter.

Lee....seams like she can`t pass at this level. Just to have a idea, rumors is that Bricio is moving to Turkey and Conegliano wants to sign Brazilian OH Gabi ( or simply just anyone). Which means they have no plans to have Lee in the starting line up next season, if Lee stays she will just be a back up. She got plenty of chances to play but she was unable to perform well. In the Finals Game 1, Bricio was not playing well, she got replaced but with Cella and not Lee. In fact Fabris was not playing well as well and in the very end they replaced her with Lee... Maybe Lee would be better as OPP and not OH. One thing for sure, if she can`t even be a starter for a club, she certainly can`t be a starter for a National Team. She`s simply not ready. And if she`s not ready....all these other OH college girls might not be ready as well ( OH is very delicate position).
