James gets 42 10 and 12 and the Cav's lose again. Cleveland has to go to a post up offense. An old school, hi low game with Love. Tristan Thompson getting boards and everyone being physical with the Celtics. Will probably not be enough. I think James leaves Cleveland in the summer.

Cleveland alive. James dominates the game 27 points 8 rebounds 12 assist 2 steals 3 blocks, on only 12 shots. Sorry but Jordan could not affect a game like this on only 12 shots. Only other player I can think of who could do this is Bird.

Cleveland has to have solid contributions from everyone else.

James Harden looks like a fraud in the playoffs.

Rockets 10 point lead at half. Warriors need to be +11 (obviously) in second half to force game seven.

Well they did. Warriors by 29. Big three each had 23+. No one else in double figures. CP3 out for Rockets. Hopefully he's back for a competitive game seven.

Both conference finals in game seven. East on Sunday, West on Monday.

While I was born and raised in Cleveland, and am a Cavs fans, I’m really sick of Cavs vs. Warriors in the Finals so I hope that’s not what we get. I know the repeat Celtics vs. Lakers matchups of the 60s and 80s are beloved by basketball fans but this just doesn’t have the same appeal to me.

Golden State has gotten lucky a few times. Cleveland would have beat them in 2015 if Love and Kyrie played. OKC had them down 3-1 in 2016 and messed up, then Cav's took it. Last season was a clean win for GS, and this year Chris Paul gets hurt to allow the Warriors to stay in it.

I don't know. Cavs were pretty lucky to win when they were down 1-3 to the Warriors, thanks in large part to a timely suspension.
As for this year, not sure Rockets would have won g6 with Paul, not on the road. Seems like this one is pretty evenly matched. These teams that rely on the 3 to win are always going to be susceptible to a bad shooting night, too. I know it's the modern-day NBA, but it still seems like a real Achilles Heel to me.
Same with Cleveland. If Lebron doesn't hit 3s today, they probably won't win, no matter how good he is.

Cavs won games five and seven (with Draymond) at Oracle. That's not luck. Everyone seems to cite Draymond's suspension as a reason the Cavs won, but I rarely hear, as Northern lights pointed out, Cavs lost 4-2 in their first matchup without Kyrie or Love. Draymond missed one game. Those two missed the entire series. When both were healthy the following season, Cavs won in seven against a Warriors team who had the best regular season record ever.

Luck.
Warriors were -- and are -- better than the Cavs. Warriors did NOT have Draymond in g5, btw.

How is that luck? They won three in a row on basketballs biggest stage against the team with the best regular season record ever. You don't get lucky three straight games. If either of these teams could be considered lucky, it would be GS the first year they won. They got to play LeBron and a bunch of scrubs. (The only worse team to get to the Finals was LeBron's Cavs in 2007.). And it still took six games. When full strength the following year, Cavs won.

Enh, Curry was playing on one leg in the 2016 finals, something that doesn't get mentioned a ton. Not an excuse - injuries happen, nothing you can do about it but play the hand your'e dealt. But when Steph Curry can't get a shot off when defended by the likes of Kevin Love (like in game 7 that year), you've got a problem.
The one year both teams were as close to full strength and as healthy as can be at that point in the season was 2017, and that was a beat-down by the W's. Of course, the addition of Durent that season was obviously a major factor.

Those same teams met three years in a row and the combined record is 11-6. The one the Cleveland won was as close as could be, 4-3. Golden State also had the best record in the regular season all three years. I think it's clear that Cleveland was somewhat lucky to have won one of those years.
