I wanted to see the Raptors lose because they beat my Sixers, but then I realized when they went up 3-1 on G.S. that perhaps the Sixers played them the most competitively. Now I'm happy the Raptors got their first championship. Sorry G.S. fans, but you all have enjoyed enough championships and finals appearances. It'll be interesting to see if Leonard stays in Toronto for the money or moves elsewhere. Regardless, it sure was a genius bet by the Raptors GM to trade for him, even if it was only a one year rental.

I'll never understand why someone would want the team to lose that put their team out of the playoffs. I look at it like this; if my team loses, I want the team that beat them to go as far as possible as it makes me think "well at least we lost to the best team" lol. I am glad you had a change of heart about them! Side note: I'm sure there are instances when you absolutely despise a team, or feel they robbed your team of a win, then it's fair game to not want them to advance much further haha. Toronto will hopefully retain Leonard, but who knows. As they say though, money talks.

Leonard can only get a max contract in Toronto, correct?

And down goes Frazier! Actually it was Klay Thompson as the Warriors took another haymaker to their roster. At the end of this Greek trajedy, no doubt, the Raptors had the most talented lineup. most talented line up? perhaps the healthiest line up I meant most talented at the end after all the injuries. If Warriors were completely healthy -- KD, Klay, Steph, Looney, etc., then likely a different outcome.

Leonard can only get a max contract in Toronto, correct?Toronto is the only team who can offer him a 5 year max (about 190M), he is no longer eligible for the supermax, which would have been 5 years for over 220M, since he didn't make an all-NBA team or win league mvp or defensive poy this season. All the other teams can only offer a 4 year max for around 141M.

They need a better term than "supermax".

No one is worth $190 million dollars. Ridiculous. How much do you think our top posters should receive? I'd give Wolfgang or mikegarrison supermax deals.

No one is worth $190 million dollars. Ridiculous. I suppose you want all the greedy owners to get that money then huh? Currently it is essentially a 50-50 revenue split between players and owners.

They need a better term than "supermax".It is technically called the "Designated Veteran Extension" and you need to have 7-8+ years of NBA service and have 1 or 2 years remaining on your current deal to qualify...among other things that have already been mentioned.

Of course not. Professional sports is out of control. Greedy owners, greedy players, greedy media. But I guess the real blame lies with the fans who fork out the money.
