I LOVE U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky. For me, I will withhold judgment until we see if any legislation is changed that will make it safer for kids playing sports or removing the statue of limitations for crimes against minors in Illinois. Don't get me wrong, I like what she said too, but actions speak louder than words. Speaking of actions, I would love to see a new photo of the wall with the Olympic Rings showing the Nancy Reno Banner has been removed.

And another pic of RB coaching from the stair stoop of court 1 at the Great Lakes Center to add to my collection...

Another sport, another pedophile coach/trainer, too successful and revered to be turned in to authorities. Another American sport tragedy, this time in the world of US Equestrian. mobile.nytimes.com/2018/05/29/sports/jimmy-williams-flintridge.amp.htmlPraying for a day when all this will change, when the adults in the situation will take action and report these sickos to the authorities before the statute of limitations runs out.

What girls sports haven't had this happen at this point? I'm sure we'll hear of another soon.

What girls sports haven't had this happen at this point? I'm sure we'll hear of another soon. Unfortunately, it’s not just a girls sports problem. While the vast majority of the issues have been male coaches molesting female athletes, the sickness is not confined to those variables. It’s a human disease, coupled with power, that has been going on from the beginning of humankind. Thankfully, we are growing as a humanity to break the silence, trying to indentify these acts and perpetrators earlier. That NYT article is nuts!

They're are a few cases in Ohio where it is a female teacher or coach having sexual relationships with underage kids from both genders.
This is not an attraction issue. It is a power issue. It is older people asserting their power over younger people.
It is especially rife in any situation where you have a mentor/mentee relationship. And sports is one of these situations.

I'm surprised we haven't heard of it in tennis (unless we already have).

For inquiring minds...this includes the OCCC as well. You sure? The article says that they could not confirm his ban from the OCCC.

For inquiring minds...this includes the OCCC as well. You sure? The article says that they could not confirm his ban from the OCCC. The AAU tournament is held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports facility at Disney World and the nearby Orange County Convention Center, which could not confirm Butler’s ban. The AAU ignored multiple requests for comment Tuesday and Wednesday. Marci Hamilton, CEO of child abuse think tank CHILD USA, said the new ban follows a letter she wrote to Disney’s general counsel about Butler’s potential presence at its facility. She said she was later assured Butler would not be allowed at either venue.
