Thank Goodness she doesn’t live in Russia huh?? Wow, after reading the article, isn’t it strange that an athlete with two positive tests and one suspension has not been tested in the 1st 6 months of competition in 2018?

This is kinda nuts. She should stick to eating only natural stuff. No supplements or medicines!

Yesterday the German partnership Laboureur and Sude were completing their 10th doping control test since 8th February 2018. Maybe all the bottles are going to the wrong address!

Umm so we all agree that Alix is (and was several years ago) cheating right? I mean I know PEDs are rampant in almost all pro sports but when you get caught you get caught. We’re going to call a spade a spade right?

We’re going to call a spade a spade right? Is a Spade aware that it is a spade? I don't think it's really that cut and dry but everyone has their own opinions.

Klineman's first suspension was reduced after USADA determined the banned substance that showed up in her test was inadvertent and not to gain a competitive advantage (in other words, cheating). She still had to serve the minimum suspension, because rules are rules. This time around, she was taking an allowed prescription medication that USADA analyzed and found traces of two banned substances, which led to her positive test.
As for in-competition vs out of competition, if Klineman had tested positive from a sample taken during, say, during The Hague event, she would have been DQ'd - no gold medal, no FIVB points, and have give back the prize money. That's the penalty for a positive result regardless of intent. Since the positive result came back from a random out of competition test, there were no penalties to be applied (after it was determined she was not responsible for the positive test, of course).

If I remember correctly, her first test and suspension was when she was indoor. I wonder if that suspension never occurred, if she would still be playing indoor?

Wait, isn't it Alix? Someone had it that way and I couldn't fully get my eyeroll to 360 degrees, I pray this was a mistake.

Is a Spade aware that it is a spade? I don't think it's really that cut and dry but everyone has their own opinions. What part is not cut and dry? The part where you say she cheated. No one else said that. USADA didn't say that. You said that. They stuck to facts. They made some rules. Alix violated the rules. USADA followed their policies to suspend her. By your reasoning, tennis player Sharapova "cheated" several years ago by continuing to use a prescribed medication which was allowed for years but was added to the list when it was updated. She didn't do her due diligence to check the updated list and failed a test, resulting in suspension as per the policies. In both cases players were culpable and held responsible. In neither case did they cheat.

I like Alix and am happy for this news....but Am I reading it right that there wasn’t any kind of reprucussions because she wasn’t competing at the time of the test? So inconsistent with their rulings...Sounds like a major bullet was dodged...whewwwww.... She is gaming the system, the third time will be the charm.
