Speaking of handsetting... Chase Frishman May be the smoothest on the beach. I think this is to be expected from Doherty... he played so well last night, the law of averages brings him back to reality today As much as I never expected to say this, Del Sol's hands are about as buttery as buttery gets, silky smooth touch. Agreed! Everybody else seems to be a little slower out of the hands, but not Frishman (or Phil)

Mens AVP Sunday are getting little boring. Phil and Nick are just so much better than everyone when something is on the line. I dunno. I mean Phil and Nick are insane but I thought Tay and Jake really pushed them to elevate their game to get the win. Yeah Jake and Taylor had the lead in most of the second set and that really pushed Dalcena at the end.

Taylor has no fear when he plays, I love that about him. He'll go right at any blocker, and I think that very mentality gets him in trouble with Phil.

Yeah Jake and Taylor had the lead in most of the second set and that really pushed Dalcena at the end. See, I didn't feel like Phil and Nick were ever pushed that hard. They'll play their hardest from points 10-17, make a run and then just try and not give up points. It's like they use the 0-10 time to figure out what a team is doing, then attack pts 10-17.

Now that you mention it, kinda. They put on “another gear” as the commentators have said now and in the past.

A couple notes, since I haven't been on all weekend and don't want to go back and quote everything.
- Priddy should be one of the best at digging hard hit balls. Playing indoors at the level he has, he has certainly taken more hard hit balls than anyone else on tour, by far.
- Great to see Rosie and Chase put it together, especially after another near 0-2. Sucks if Rosie does have a significant injury.
- Zaun's persona is what keeps us talking about him (even when he had a disappointing tourney). A random fan takes 10 pictures with athletes, of course they remember the guy who says "Don't smile it is a sign of weakness" To me, it is being entertaining.
- Ed finishes what he is, in that 7-9 range, with a better finish once in a while. He is consistent enough he should continue to finish in that range with a wide range of partners. I'm not going to hate on Zaun for wanting a bit more "risk-reward".
- I saw Casey's video as well where it does seem like he and Stafford genuinely enjoy each other. They need to be competing better.
- The Reid/Chase idea just does not sound good to me. That'd be a team I could see losing to mid-quali level teams if both off.

Did Jeremy and Reid split block all match? here is their match point against Chase/Sean and Reid is blocking: I watched all their matches this weekend. They occasionally split block. Seems like if Jeremy can't get a good rhythm blocking they throw Reid up for a bit to give a different look. They tried it at the end of their match vs Allen/Doherty and Reid got 2/3 blocks towards the end but it was already a blowout. Sometimes also if they want Jeremy to go after the serve even more then normal Reid stays up there. But overall it was about 15% of the time this weekend.

Thanks, would really like it if Casebeer was able to transition to a defensive player, was hoping it was more 50-50.
