First upset will probably be Em Day and Betsi Flint going down in 2 to Davis/Scarborough. By seeding, this is an upset: Match 7: Janelle Allen / Angela Bensend (10) def. Caitlin Ledoux / Maria Clara Salgado (7) 11-21, 21-17, 15-11 (0:44)

It's hard to say if Flint and Day just don't have the chemistry together that either had with their past partners, or if they just aren't playing well. It sure looks like Kelly Larsen is the more promising player from that old partnership.
Some interesting tidbits from the portions of interviews that I've watched. Apparently Sara made the call to Summer, rather than vice versa, so the impetus for the great partnership shake up was Sara looking to dump Kelly, not Brooke hurting her shoulder. And Alix hadn't even noticed the difference in the sand depth between stadium court and the outer courts, leading to a funny exchange with April saying, "Sometimes I don't tell you stuff" and noting that Alix is so tall that things like sand depth don't affect her.

I feel like Sara being the impetus for the entire women’s shakeup was common knowledge.

What is up with Betsi Flint? She has been bad all year. Not trying to be mean, but Kelly was the one who carried that team in the past. Betsi is a below average main draw player. I think she is giving us what she actually is

I do think this was a mistake not to lock in MHP with a wild card. Even though they embarrassed themselves in the qualifier, I still think they should have gotten a WC. Wait, what? Why? Because of how they played in 2017? Or something else? I don't see you stating anything other than they should have gotten a WC because you think they should have gotten a WC. What's your rationale? I think they should have gotten a WC for a few reasons: 1) Its not fair to ask the other qualifier teams to beat the world no. 1 to get in. (Good for Sykora that she did, but it wasnt fair to her) 2) Locking down a charismatic young player like MHP has value in whats about to be a competitive marketplace 3) Despite this embarrassment, this is an excellent team that adds a lot of value to the tour in terms of depth and competitiveness

Based on the way teams are playing so far this year, I would rank the AVP teams: 1) #teamhugz 2) Summer/Sara 3) Wilkerson/Branagh 4) Larsen/Stockman 5) Brittney/Kelly - They had that great result but somehow I just dont see them doing anything else this year. Also Kelly should rethink her fashion choice this week, although Britt - as always - has great stuff. (Not counting Canada as an AVP team until they qualify)
