Have a chance to go to either tournament. If you have been, which would you recommend and why? Thanks

I would go to the Seattle one.
Most of the top teams will be in Espinho for the 4* events. Meanwhile some teams opted to stay in the States for the Seattle one instead of going to Ostrava.

Non of the top teams are in San Fran this year if I am reading the schedule right. If your looking to see the top players, Seattle would be the one in 2018. Seattle will be missing Sara & Summer And Nicole & Brandie.

Never been to the Seattle event. The San Francisco venue is on a large pier, close to downtown, with a great view of the Bay Bridge in the background. I like it, for a site not on a real beach.
But, yes, sounds like it will be missing the top teams this year.

I wonder if that is going to create friction with the locals

I think locals anywhere are happy if the circus comes to town. The rest of us will want a stronger field to cross the country. Caught the weak field Frisco event last year, great location, fantastic views. Seattle this year, better field. Just my opinion.
