Both Lee and Mitchem are great players. You can't go wrong with either of them. I feel like Mitchem has the higher ceiling though as she's just growing into her game as an OH.

you may have a beef with someone but it's not me If as a result of a non-attacking explanation you think I have a beef with you that's on you. Ok, you're making me earn it, but by golly, volleytalk is a privilege and I'm not a quitter, so I'm gonna compliment your setter AND my setter no matter what. So here it is, minus the confusing theatrical visual: The US is fortunate to be very good at setter -- their third best has two national championship trophies.

Our system is a very difficult system for a setter to run. TBH, I'm not sure our setters will ever look like the best setters in a tournament/competition, just because the system is going to cause them to make more errors.

Woloz is currently the best setter to run Karch's system as implemented by Italian Scudetto champion, Imoco, with Hill, Fabris, Bricio, Foli, and Robin being the central ingredients. Unfortunately Imoco only had a couple of matches where this line up was complete due to injuries. And without both their starting MB's they still came within a whisker of defeating Vakif for what was essentially the CL gold medal match.

Does anyone have any videos of Mitchem playing outside overseas?

I'm so proud of Annie Mitchem, as if she was my own daughter.

Does anyone have any videos of Mitchem playing outside overseas? I'd say just search for her Italian team on youtube. But here's a start. You should be able to spot her easy if you know what she looks like. Long black hair, huge armswing ...

Confused as to how the scrimmage will be used for evaluation purposes when the VNL roster leaves tomorrow for the finals in China and the head coach of the program will be on a plane... and JWO and Wilhite are supposed to be competing for spots.
Also confusing that Megan Courtney isn't on this prelim roster at all, despite being on the VNL prelim roster as an outside hitter... Dannemiller was supposedly competing for a VNL spot yet isn't competing for a Pan Am Cup spot... More evidence that the VNL prelim roster was crap.

I watched some of the highlights from other matches and Mitchem plays so loose and free. I love it. And I don't know about her passing numbers but I am impressed from the little I've seen. I hope she continues to grow and becomes a bright spot.

Problem with Mitchem is that she will play as a backup for Scandicci next season. Starting OH duo L.Boseti/Vasileva, and they just signed Serbian OH Bojana Milenkonvic as well. Only 4 foreigners on the court - Haak ( Sweden) Adenizia (Brazil) Stevanovic (Serbia) Vasileva (Bulgaria).

I'd like to see Mitchem's tendency to land on one leg get fixed. Her passing is pretty good considering she was playing middle for the majority of her collegiate career. She's improved a lot already and I'm hoping to see her continue to get better.

I don't think anyone knows. But to his point - if she has, why was she on the VNL roster and not this one? And if she hasn't, why was she on the VNL roster?
