Such interesting in depth analysis of the match, thumb down/up, Casey's silly elbow dropping etc. but the main factor controlling who is scoring when - good side/bad side - has not been mentioned. But perhaps thats too much to expect that two "experts" would understand what the average B player knows

"What you don't know" segment is much better than Kelli Tennat interviewing Chase's girlfriend. Part of Kelli's ongoing attempt to make everything about her. Apparently Casey and Stafford are barely paying attention to the match because they are so enthralled with Kelli/Cam's commentary. Ooh and earlier Kelli said something to Kevin, lets rehash that conversation!!! It’s hilarious you said that re: Kelli making it about herself. They were talking about things that people don’t know about the commentators not that anyone gives a flying !!!!###$$$!!!. But Camryn said she liked film noir. Ok fine whatever. Kelli LITERALLY called her out for not asking her in return what people don’t know about her (Kelli). You’ve got to be kidding me.

If that pair had actual performance reviews, they wouldn't still be working, it's so bad, unlistenable.

It is just too goofy and sophomorish , then they are speaking to the viewers like ESPN used to do a few years ago when they started airing the woman's and men's indoor finals on the main ESPN channels. If someone is watching on a Friday afternoon into evening I am going to guess it is not some random prime member seeing it is live, but the people who are fans of the game and completely understand what is going on.
You could tell during the Priddy/Cas match that Kevin completely controlled the broadcast and she still tried to be goofy, as soon as Fuller got in there she said she was out from the man time.
It would be nice if we could still select what court we want to watch considering they keep cutting to them, maybe put a main broadcast option up then allow constant streams going with no commentary to at least give the avid fans a chance to see who they are hoping that AP shows in the current format.

They'll never give us all courts because: a) that technology doesn't exist in 2018 and b) no one would watch center court due to inane banter

My question is if something is so bad why do you continue to watch it? They have the technology to see how many viewers they are getting. So, even viewers that are logging on watching and thinks it sucks are still putting their rating up there. All the TV stations have this capibility. The complaining on VT does nothing...Just sayin..

Are you serious? There’s no other way to watch AVP. Sometimes your logic makes me wonder... We all know we can’t change it. Doesn’t mean we can’t express how we feel about it.

Also you’re just wrong. They have a rating system. And it got all 1s and 2s and then they disabled it. Soooo no. Their viewer numbers aren’t falsely inflating their idea of their performance.

3 Observations:
1. It's clear that AVP/Amazon wants a "proper sports broadcast" so we get the studio stuff, the interviews the switching from court to court, etc. Since it's streaming, we won't get actual numbers so if Amazon drops the deal then we'll know if it's successful or not.
2. From watching the Seattle event, Kelli and Cam were chatting about something that wasn't related to the match and my girlfriend walked into the living room confused since it sounded like "one of those dumb E! shows." I think Cam is fine but if she's with Kelli then she just plays into Kelli's nonsense. And the thumb thing seems like something she picked up and she just keeps repeating it. Also Kelli cracked on Cam for having a binder of notes in Seattle like doing research on players is a bad thing. I didn't expect this to turn into a bash fest but here we are.
3. During Seattle, I had to leave before the men's final for my own volleyball match so it was a little before 6PM CST, because of the broadcast set up, I wasn't able to view the men's final until some time after midnight so I didn't watch the match until the morning. I assume it's not posted anywhere how soon the semi and finals are available to stream right?

This plus your other post squared, we are well within our rights to complain about coverage of the sport we all love. Can you imagine if we lived in Donny's utopia where everything is fine and you just accept things the way they are.

If I play in one more volleyball league during the week maybe

We have no choice but to accept it...We all and I mean all of us have complained at one point or another that Don Sun is not doing enough to grow this sport..Well, he is..Getting a mega 3 year deal done with Prime and what do many of u do? Sit back & tear it apart. They had a system going into this year. They can’t just change that system mid-stream because 6 or 7 posters on Volleytalk think the coverage sucks or the announcers suck or the players suck, etccccccccccccc.......Heres a concept....Www.avp.com...Under contact us...Dear Mr. sun...Prime is a great idea, however have you thought about doing it like so, etc...Insert your ideas...Maybe just maybe he’ll take some of these ideas into consideration.

Donny, again, another low-point post, it's not "6 or 7" randos on VT, it's anyone familiar with quality coverage and what constitutes it as such. Our main gripe is two-fold, 1) we wanted cameras on all courts like FIVB manages to handle, didn't get that, 2) announcers with at least passable knowledge of beach, Kevin has that part but the two gals most assuredly do not, dreadful even. We all want the game to grow and this hasn't hurt that necessarily but it's not the best product the AVP could have put forward. The most annoying part of it is that it is actually possible but we aren't getting it.

There are a lot of positives about Amazon so far. I would love the extra courts and it was promised, but the AVP didn't have that before so fine. Cam has improved and she is obviously doing research, watching qualifiers etc. so I am happy to put up with her growing pains. Its a new job for anyone - calling 9 hours a day - and she gets better every week. We are seeing more of the outer courts, particularly on important points, which is also nice and the video quality and camera angles are better than on the old stream and objectively very good.
