Are Larson, Liva, and Ashment returning?

Are Larson, Liva, and Ashment returning? There is no way everybody can come back. Too much players on the team and I also remember hearing there is only certain # of lockers so there have to be cuts made. With Sheward and then Thelle coming in along with Eekeran and Worsley, there is no need for Ashment. Ashment was an insurance policy for last season. Liva and Larson are MB. We got Matt August and Cole Hogland coming in with Jake Meyer and Max Rosenfeld coming off redshirts.....all are better than Liva and Larsen. Wouldn’t be surprised if Anastasiaades get cut too. We are loaded at OH with Devon Johnson, Filip Humler and Alakai Todd coming in.

While I don't disagree that 24 players on the roster is a lot, to put this in perspective this past season while Hawaii had 20 players on their roster, LBSU had 23 and UCI 22.
Also while Hawaii will have 5 seniors graduate 4 of them are starters. That's a huge turnover. LBSU and UCI will also have huge turnovers next year.
The majority of the incoming player know that breaking into the starting lineup of a senior heavy team is slim. It's all about showing that you have what it takes to earn a starting spot in 2020.
Also what is the ideal number of players? Is there an optimal number of players?

Thanks for sharing the Thelle clip. Dude has a wicked serve and decent hops. Unlike last year, we now show depth at the middles. Little concerned over lack of depth at Libero, I suppose with the talent we now have at the setter position, we can always swing Joe over to Libero if Gage suffers an injury or use Yung if he has what it takes. This roster will make for very competitive practices.

BTW, does anyone know who the walk on players are on our roster? I suspect Liva, Larson, Yung, and Cowell fall into this category but what about folks like Van Eekeren Anastassiades, and Rosenfeld?

Isn't there supposed to be another MB coming in, Danny Wong. It was posted on the 2018 Hawaii thread.
A few pages from the end a poster mentioned a Jeremy Yap who is an ex-CSUN commit who's a libero. But said poster alluded to Worsley leaving.

I've seen no recent news on Jeremy Yap, or Gage Worsley that affects the status quo in either the Star Advertiser or any other legitimate source when I google these players. I'm going to assume nothing changed and that the poster is misinformed. Besides, Worsley moving to another program doesn't make any logical sense being that the starting libero role now belongs to him. When you thing about it, why would he throw away the opportunity of playing before the largest audience in the nation on a national championship caliber team. Older brother Joe is also counting on him to patrol the back court to keep our opponents off the scoreboard.

Both Worsley brothers were at a couple of the the Wahine matches last week. Actually, this past Friday I believe there were a bunch of the new players at the match (Humler, Thelle, etc)

I know this is outside the time scope of this thread but I'm reading that Jack Walmer a setter from Mira Costa H.S. has committed to Hawaii in 2020. I read this in another thread "Commitments 2020" by a poster called Newport2020. Comments?

You Hawaii fans are lucky to get him! He’s a “joe type” setter... not the physical type, but good location, defense, high IQ, good leadership. Big volleyball family in MB. Dad played on the tour. jack’s a good beach player too. Plays MB Surf 18s this year. Old for his class so he’ll play 18s twice. You’ll like him.
