Does the UH coaching staff do "chalk talks" for the boosters? This is something that happens at some (all?) B1G programs.

WHOA.... Now you guys have something with which to do some MAJOR line-up concoctions (kinda like a witches brew in an iron cauldron). Oh and by the way: sorry Wolfie: you Didn't "call it"! I counted about 10 or so (since the UH AD announcement) -- keep 'em coming!

I was expecting Hellvig's announcement to be made next month but I guess she processed her papers much faster than anticipated! She will definitely add firepower to either pins, and I'm excited for her Wahine journey, along with the rest of the freshman class and transfers.
She is likely to play beach, as with Rasmussen (from what I have heard), but Robyn is somewhat adamant about it. Hall and RAMS have a strong relationship, and I believe that they can work something out. Adding Hellvig and Rasmussen to the line up will bolster the Beach Roster with some height and experience. I also heard that Granato will be trying to play professionally after graduation, and it looks like she's looking at the Superliga in the Philippines.
As for my other inside sources, the coaching staff is recruiting all year and they are looking on beyond 2020 for recruits. I don't want to give too much (as I don't want to endanger my sources) but the staff is looking at Turkey and Thailand.
One thing I really can't get a news of is Castaneda's status? She has promise, and I really hope she stayed.

Did any of you pick up on what one of the bloggers mentioned concerning a backup setter. Cindy Luis had mentioned that Robyn is looking at a European Setter to come in the fall. If that is true, that setter would come in as a Freshman. I am wondering if that European Setter they are looking at is somewhat like a Kendra Koelsch type player. Meaning, that player may be around 6'0-6'1 and able to also play on the Outside, just like Kendra Koelsch.

I was wondering if that European Setter they are looking at is somewhat like a Norene Iosia type player.

I don't miss anything that Cindy Luis says even though I sometimes have problems understanding her.

My preferred starting line up: L1: Jolie Rasmussen L2: Riley Wagoner Opp: Hanna Helvig Set: Noreen Iosia M1: Skyler Williams M2: Tiffany Westerberg Lib: Kyra Hanawahine DS: Mckenna Ross I like this lineup, but I have a hard time believing Hellvig won't be an outside. She's the only player on the roster with a lot of international experience, so I bet her passing is pretty solid. If she ends up at OPP, maybe Robyn will alter the serve receive pattern to allow the right side (Hellvig) to pass.

You people who want to put Rasmussen, and Hellvig, on the Outside Hitter positions, is like telling Alan Knipe to put Ensing on the Outside Hitter position with DeFalco. Or, telling Charlie Wade to put Parapunoz on the Outside Hitter position with SVT. Even asking why Dave Shoji did not play Nikki Taylor on the Outside Hitter position, along with Emily Hartong. I firmly believe that you should not play your 2 best attacker at the Outside Hitter position. Put one at the Outside Hitter position, and put the other at Opposite. Like both Alan Knipe, and Charlie Wade, are doing. Also, what Dave Shoji did.

BIK, guess you are calling Dave Shoji a dumb coach by putting Nikki Taylor at Opposite. Now we all know the truth about what you think of Dave Shoji.

BIK and Dirtrider are true bullies, just like Trump. When you start calling people names you just show your true bully self, just like Trump does. Also, show your educational level which is not much, when you have to stoop to calling people names.
Political commentary is unnecessary and unwanted. Keep that in mind or banishment will follow.

BIK, guess you are calling Dave Shoji a dumb coach by putting Nikki Taylor at Opposite. Now we all know the truth about what you think of Dave Shoji. Opposite was the best position for Taylor's success and for Hawaii's. That is why she was put there. Not because Shoji was trying to stretch out his talent. I am not calling Shoji dumb, I'm calling you dumb. My sentiments about Coach Shoji are on the record- he's a legend. You otoh, are a legendary fool.
