She could be a starter before conference season begins. Hellvig could be starting from day one.

Did I miss something somewhere? Where has it been stated that Hanna Hellvig will not be the starting Opposite come the first match of the season? Are you just assuming that she will not be? If you are thinking, praying that Kirsten Sibley will be the starting Opposite, then the Wahine are you BIG Trouble. Where is Westerberg being played at? She looks like she could be an Opp. Westerberg has been having a great camp. She could slot into any of three positions -- OH2, OPP or M2 -- or she could be stuck on the bench behind Wagoner, Hellvig and Igiede. The competition is very high and there's still at least three more days of camp and a whole week after that before the season opener so a lot of time for players to make their case for playing time/starting positions.

I love the speculation, but I don't get how people already feel for certain that some players will start over others. There are legit 9 new players...7 of which have very little recent gameplay footage. I'm so excited because apart from Rasmussen, I legit don't know who else is going to be a starter for the first match. I would have included Iosia as a guaranteed starter as well, but who knows. The competition seems to be tough in the practice gym and I'm not seeing any of them play in practice to help support any of the possible starting lineups. For all we know, Krug or Ross could be a starter. Cindy made a point to post that Krug is looking very mobile for coming off of recent surgery. I also feel like a lot of the videos from practice show Ross getting kills. August 30th can't come fast enough. Go Bows!

You know at some point she'll be a sparkplug when they need it.

I believe Ross and Sibley will play well if they're put in. After all, they've got freshmen breathing down their necks and I'm sure they don't want to be replaced by lowly freshmen. I mean, they just graduated from high school, for pete's sake!

Awesome!!! Grew up with Puna's dad Russell and his uncle Guy. Got plenty good volleyball blood in that family. I predict Puna will be a very good coach someday.

Note Due to construction in the Stan Sheriff Center, the Wahine’s annual Green-White scrimmage will be in Gym I, where there is no seating. Friday’s scrimmage is closed to the public. Aww, man. I actually have Friday off from work, so I was hoping that the scrimmage would be open, but hopefully, there is some decent media coverage, and we can have a little more of an idea of what the starting line-up may look like.

Choy 5-1 can't believe there's been discussion/doubt. Did I miss where people were saying Choy would be the primary setter in a 5-1?

I can't tell if they're implying that a 5-1 with Choy is what it should be and that they can't believe there's discussion or doubt about it....or are they saying the exact opposite???
