Everybody struggles. If Riley came in here and expected to “dominate” then she need to change her attitude. Even the best have to go thru growing pains and endure frustrations. It’s not like this situation is unique to her.
She needs to continue to work.....keep a positive attitude....be happy for the team ’s and her teammate’s success and then after the season...redouble her effort and work harder. Nothing is gain by leaving after only one year.

You're on about nicknames when we in crisis, what the hell wrong with you. We are in a crisis? 🤔🤔🤔😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 And there's a difference between nicknames and shortening people's names because you're too lazy to type it out Well you all should talk, why not just type out Robyn instead of RAM?

Look forward to seeing Riley Wagoner transfer for next year. Numbers speak for themselves and she is getting the shaft for favoritism of certain players. There is not one category where Ross is better. Hawaii loses alot without her on the court. They beat the top teams because everyone on the court contributed their best assets. The IQ on this girl is unreal and she shows the most versatility of any player in the gym. If the sets she received from the second best setter on the team forced everyone to think she can't hit, maybe take a look at the balls she was being asked to swing at over and over again. I'm glad she is so none error because with huge blocks, she made the other team play the ball at the very least. She is a smart girl and knows she could receive a better education and maybe better coaching at some of the top Big10 or Pac schools she was getting recruited to. Hawaii is a dream environment and good for her to make what she wanted happen. But I see her taking a long look at what is going on and pondering a move. Iosia has the coaches in a bind. She can't set better than Choy, but now she doesn't come off the floor because she needs to stay warm. Wtf. Her blocking and hitting numbers are sub-par. Definitely not beating any big team with either Ross or Iosia going through the front row. All the coaches do is play the girls with the most attitude...so go ahead, win in the weak conference games, but you won't be going very far post season without your best 6 on the court. Riley could get a way better education at USC, UCLA, Minnesota, Illinois, and get a good look as an Outside Hitter or Libero. If the weather is your number one reason for college in Hawaii ... Ok, but I bet a smart girl who wants the best for herself in school and in volleyball looks elsewhere if she can. C'mon coaches, start improving your players skillsets and not favoriting some show of angry must win attitude that doesn't translate to playing better. You will lose gems like Wagoner fast and the recruitment will get harder once word gets out about what earns playing time. It ain't the actual play because numbers reflect the truth. Hope a tan is worth wasting your talent if Riley she chooses to stay. SMH. Oh please. You must be one her parents. She is not a good hitter...there genius. Her hitting percentage is non-existent. Other than that she is a good ball handler. So instead of badmouthing Iosia who is a great athlete and an asset to the Wahine team. I don't care for Ross either, but Ross is a risk taker, I'll give you that. If Riley goes somewhere else, she will only be playing backrow duties as a defensive specialist or come in as a serving sub. You're making Riley out like she is a blue-chipper. Which she ain't. She is a solid player at best.

Lol If you had caught me a couple weeks ago I would’ve sharpened my metaphorical axe and TORE into you for this giant blob of BS. Obviously we’ve been watching different teams because Wagoner has had the absolute longest leash of any player on this team. Please see yourself out.

If JR's toast till next year then I'm going to modify the ideal lineup: OPP: Vig OH1: BVS OH2: Iosia/Wag M1: Igiede M2: Williams S: Choy L: Iosia/Wag/Gong Sickle can rise to the occasion. I'll get very angry if I see Okino on the court again. Am I the only one that thinks it's weird how you shorten people's names (Vig, Wag, Sickle)? Are you really that lazy to type the few extra letters to spell their names appropriately? No you’re not

Where did people get this idea of Wagoner even transferring out next year? I think she genuinely enjoys not only her team but her class. I know she would want to be apart of her other freshmen cohorts cause they already proven they can do something special in the next three seasons. You don’t usually see cohesive freshmen classes but when you do you know they all just want to stick together and win it all.

SMH. what do you mean by this? looking at ross v. wagoner, ross has 2.25 kps, riley has 1.50 kps. iosia is hitting .200 over riley's .140. iosia is leading the team is assists. back up your claims about the coaching - because the numbers are reflecting who's getting time. in fact, riley subbed in for hanna in the ucd match. she came in for ross in the cal poly match. had she given better numbers, she would stay on the court. i think there are numerous times we've seen the line up change cuz guess what: the coaching staff can piece together in any situation what the best six looks like. we've seen that over and over again. would you like me to call you an uber to see yourself out?

You will lose gems like Wagoner fast and the recruitment will get harder once word gets out about what earns playing time. It ain't the actual play because numbers reflect the truth. Hope a tan is worth wasting your talent if Riley she chooses to stay. SMH. Just because I'm in a good mood and it's 2:02 AM and I just accomplished a lot in Shadow of Mordor, here's what I think: 1. I like Riley Wagoner a lot and hope she stays for her entire four years, as I think it would be very rewarding for her both academically and athletically, especially to build something "special" in the years ahead with her freshmen class. 2. If she does indeed transfer, I wish her the best of luck. I don't want any student-athlete who doesn't want to be at Hawaii to remain at Hawaii. I'm sure Ah Mow and co. also don't want anyone who doesn't want to be there to stick around. I'm okay with transfers -- IN and OUT. If I weren't, I'd be a big hypocrite, see, e.g., Jolie Rasmussen, Brooke Van Sickle. (Two of my faves!) Hell, I'm glad those two transferred to Hawaii. 3. The grass is greener on the other side of the fence thing -- sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't. See, e.g., Jolie Rasmussen, Brooke Van Sickle. Not knowing any of the internal workings of USC, UCLA, Minnesota, Illinois, etc., I couldn't say whether Riley would be happier there or not. My gut tells me the competition for playing time will be stiff and she may end up spending more time on the bench than on the court. It's not like she's of Emma Smith's caliber who ended up with a decent career as a libero for UC Berkeley upon transferring there from Hawaii. But we all knew Smith was good. If any of the "rumors" from the UCLA 2019 thread is true, it appears no one cares for the UCLA environment. If putting down balls as an OH is difficult for Riley in the Big West, imagine how nightmarish it might be in the B1G or PAC12. See also, Megan Huff who put together an incredible All-PAC12 women's basketball career at Utah after transferring there. 4. I think Riley will improve as a hitter after this offseason, especially if she increases her strength and gets some solid coaching. 5. The players mentioned above who are currently competing for playing time with Riley -- McKenna Ross, Norene Iosia -- will be gone after this season. It's not like Riley will be competing against them her entire four years. Also, Norene Iosia has better hitting numbers than Riley. I mean, even with the eyeball test, Iosia is a better hitter. With Ross, it's a toss-up. The numbers are comparable. However, when Ross is hot, she's waaaay better than Riley, who has not been hot as a hitter as of yet. 6. If there's dissatisfaction with the way the Hawaii coaches are making playing time decisions, a transfer to a different school doesn't guarantee that the coaching staff at the new school will make playing time decisions different from that of Hawaii's coaches AND that are favorable to Riley. It could be worse. And yes, it could be better. No one knows. It's a risk. Sure, you could talk to players at the new school. So far, I like the way Ah Mow does things. It appears fair. Prior to the start of the season, I was worried there might be favoritism especially with Braelyn Akana's mom (Jocelyn Robins) being good friends and former teammates of Ah Mow and Ljungqvist, but so far, my concerns have proven to be false. I mean, Akana barely sees playing time, even when her family members are in the stands, for chrissakes! 7. Riley is playing as a freshmen! How can anyone complain about that! I mean, come on! A freshman! 8. Don't take the fan support for granted. Once you go to UCLA or USC, hey, enjoy the crickets. 9. If she really wants to transfer, I'd say a better place for her would be schools like West Virginia or one of the ACC schools. Very close to Dublin, OH. Lots of money. Good education. Beautiful campuses. Enjoy the snow. 10. As for the "better education" argument, don't fret. I don't know what classes she's taking and I don't know what it's like at other schools. To me, you can get a great education everywhere. They're all the same, except Caltech which is an insane place where you have to really really love math, physics, and getting 12/100 consistently on your problem sets. (You start to lose your self-confidence and self-esteem.) A degree at Hawaii will help you get into the Harvards and Stanfords, if you want. It's all about your GPA, GRE scores (or LSAT), recommendations, and academic awards. You'll do fine. No sweat. Talk to Dalton Solbrig or Clare-Marie Anderson, if they're around. I mentioned this in another thread, but my daughter went to Colorado State while my sons went to Duke and Northwestern. My daughter, who went to an arguably "inferior" school, will be making more $$$ than my two sons combined. So, you know, it's all up to you. 11. As for the junk sets from the "inferior" setter, I'd love to see Riley's hitting numbers from Choy and Iosia, separately, to see if her numbers are indeed better with one setter vs. the other.

I too like Riley on the floor over Ross, but I don't think the coaches are playing favorites here. Ross gives more offensively, but I'll take Riley's all around play over that. I think we'll see Riley more in the line up when JR is back, like we did to start the season.
Riley is still getting court time, as a Freshman. If she likes her team, the school, and the environment, she should work hard and stick with it.

Starting unsubstantiated rumors about players transferring should be a ban- able offense. Wagoner or her family are not the source of these rumors.

Starting unsubstantiated rumors about players transferring should be a ban- able offense. Wagoner or her family are not the source of these rumors. I had a feeling last night the poster was probably one of the Hawaii fans you currently have in timeout. If you can suss out which then could extend timeout an extra three weeks.
