She wasn’t the starter from the begging of the year. Shoji eased her into the lineup Willoughby was a starter from the first match. Hawaii played Texas A&M who eliminated them from the tournament in Hawaii the year before. First play of the match was a kill from Willoughby out of the back row. I remember being in the stands and everyone kind of gasped after that kill.

How great is it that despite all the doubts, especially from “fans” on here, the Wahine were able to pull off an out right Big West Championship!
It’s a new season now, just enjoy the ride ladies!

I’m just curious with this 6-2 system, which players are the options for each setter?
If Iosia starts in the back row: OH - BVS, M - Amber Opo - Hanna
When Choy comes in: OH - Ross M - Sky Opo - Norene?

Starting to wonder if Jolie Rasmussen is looking at applying for a medical redshirt year. Allowing her to play two more seasons with the Wahine.

Looks right and each setter gets their respective group of players and the other group for 2/1 rotations respectively. Save for Iosia&Hellvig /Choy&Iosia An unfortunate source mentioned something about Jolie possibly medically redshirting again if she falls under parameters to do so. I’m not sure if she does or not but I wonder if it’s worth considering. If anyone deserves it it’s her.

Hawaii’s mystery European recruit (not Kiraly) was on the court with Kate Lang during the post senior night festivities. The Wahine are going to be tall in the coming years.

Interesting that Jolie Rasmussen, BVS, and Kyra Hanawahine transferred to UH from Oregon, and now the three of them are going to the NCAA Tournament. But the team they transferred from Oregon will not be going anywhere. Smart choice by these 3 players to transfer.
