Hearing that a couple of the north east D1 jobs are ready to move. At least one has been exploring its options with one candidate this week and one had their candidates on campus last week, offers coming any day now. Agreed. The thank you letters went out from another in the NE. So announcement expected very soon.

This seems...underwhelming. Wow.... 11,8,6 is her win average in last three years as recruiting coordinator. Itβs seems some ADs want the opposite of what they had, which was a successful veteran coach. Also Iβm sure many of the girls this age (recruiting) would rather play for a young female who will act more like their friend than their father. But yes, I would imagine there were many applicants with more experience and success, there always are right! Great head coaches gotta start somewhere.

Hasn't been anywhere long enough except GCU to make an impact, and they've been bad. Am I the only one who sees a bunch of 1- and 2-year stops as an assistant as a bad thing (even if they are in theory "trading up")?

Totally agree, but it's great how those hires help keep our volleyball salaries low. Thanks.....

Wofford College is now accepting applications for a part-time assistant coach. We are an NCAA Division 1 institution competing in the Southern Conference. We are located in Spartanburg, SC. Any interested persons should send a cover letter, resume, and references to laybj@wofford.edu

This is a strictly hypothetical path but probably resembles a number of coaches. 2 year GA 1 year volunteer 1-2 year part time or as a DOVO 2 years 2nd assistant 2 years first assistant at small program 2 years first assistant at large program To head coach What about a path like this would cause you concern?

Because with a path like that, there is no direct correlation between the results and the coach. you are recruiting kids who never play for you, and hence there is no way to tell if they are a good recruiter.

Good point. If you're following the Michigan football recruiting path, by the time you depart after the 2nd or 3rd year, the recruits you offered are still in 9th or 10th grade.
