Roster Rules for this years VNL. Does anyone know what the rules for roster postings are this year? Last year I recollect that the at-large roster was required at the beginning of play and that pool rosters were announced at a short date before each pool. It seems to me that the at-large roster was 27 names. Do we have any sense yet as to who will be on that roster? USA At-Large roster for 2018: www.volleyball.world/en/vnl/2018/women/teams/usa%20usa/team_rosterThey released a fake training roster in the middle of April last year that included athletes that were never even in the gym. The roster included 26 athletes and was trimmed down to a real prelim roster of 21 a couple weeks later, right before the first leg. My guess: Setters (4): Carlini, Lloyd, Hancock, Poulter Outsides (6): Larson, Hill, Bartsch, Wilhite, Lee, _______ Opposites (3): Murphy, Lowe, Drews Middles (6): Akinradewo, Adams, Dixon, Gibbemeyer, Ogbogu, _______ Liberos (2): Robinson, Courtney

I would drop Wilhite for Plummer (if she isn’t in school still) and add Foecke and Washington to the two blank spots. I would love to see a young Libero in there somewhere. We might actually see that at the expense of a setter.
This years schedule is interesting. There are no pools that are completely stacked. There is at least one low ranking team in each of the pools. The first pool should be a cake walk for them. The 3rd week (as hosts) is pretty light too.

I think the roster @allamerican11 provided is absolutely correct, plus Foecke to hit the Nebraska quota for Week 3. The last spot I guess is up for grabs. It’s a real shame for Molly Sauer, I would’ve thought that last spot could’ve been hers if not for injury.

Kinda forgot that Hill, Lowe, Carlini, and Bartsch will all be playing in the CL final two days before the first leg starts. Might mean a good opportunity for Lee.

Especially with Belgium, Bulgaria and Japan in the first leg pool.
Week 2: Serbia, Italy and Dom Rep.
(Will want some vets for that leg)
Week 3 is the home leg which honestly the newbies could probably take down Korea and Germany. Brazil might be tough.
I wouldn’t bring any of the Olympic vets in until week 4.

Based on Karch’s selection history I think you mean a good opportunity for Wilhite or Kingdon. Those two have had ample time to prove their worth. Wilhite saw intermittent court time this pro season and Kingdon sat the bench. I say cut them. Lee started every match for Beylikduzu this year and has improved a lot. Add Foecke and Plummer to the mix and there are your new leaders from 2021-2028. Ogbogu, Poulter and Carlini should get some good looks this season. We just need to fix our Libero problem. Not to mention the shear number and quality of girls we have in the pro league circuit....we are gonna be ok. At this point if we get a medal in Tokyo I will be elated. I hope it’s gold but time will tell. I fear any changes that need to be made will come too late.

That may be but one starter has changed and it’s setter. We are worse without Glass. So again, gotta fix setter first.

Libero problem?? Our biggest problem is at the setting position. No. It's at opposite. On second thought, it's actually at Head Coach (how did I miss that opening?)
