Those 3 teams are ridiculously strong on paper. They each have 6-7 world-class players(and Novara and Scandicci should, on paper, be even better than last year). I don't think any other club in the world, in any league, has that many world-class players.
Anyway, I don't expect Imoco to be able to defend the title, but we'll see.

In the first match Conegliano swept Casalmaggiore. Wolosz is back with her magic touch;her connection with Fabris is a pleasure to watch. Great comeback for Megan Easy, she scored 18 points with 14 kills on 20 swings!

I liked watching Hodge-Easy today. Such a cool cat or lioness on the court who gets the job done! It also seemed like they ran bic combinations with her. interesting. Dont know if she'd want the grind of the national team due to getting injured the past seasons ... and maybe US's need for speed offense is asking for another injury!!!

After watching the first game of Conegliano vs Casalmaggiore, I don't know why the heck Karch gave up on Easy so callously and unreasonably. She is such an amazing player today, 18 points in 3 sets with 70% of success rate and only 1 hitting error!! More importantly, she has no problem fitting into USA's fast offence system, just look at what she did with Woloz's setting today!
I wish her a happy, healthy, and great season in Italy. Hope to see you on NT again, Megan.

After watching the first game of Conegliano vs Casalmaggiore, I don't know why the heck Karch gave up on Easy so callously and unreasonably. The season before the Olympics she was playing in Italy and had a season ending injury. Last season in Italy she had another season ending injury. And I think she had some injury while playing in China as well.. So yeah he should have made her play while injured.....so callously and so unreasonably. And adding another 30 year old player in the team is surely the answer.

For your information, she had scored 37 pts and had scored over 20 multiple times while she was in Henan. While in contrast, Murphy could hardly make it over two figures that season. Of course Karch should not recruit her when she was in injury. But she never made it to National Team again after Rio, when she was healthy from 2016 fall till 2017 fall. And during that time, Murphy was the starting OPP at NT, who is only one year younger than Easy. Throughout Easy's NT career during the Rio quad, she only occasionally started in 2013, and was the 4th OH in 2015. She could've been the starting OH with Hill at Imoco last season if it were not for her injury. So I don't think she lacks the ability to make an impact at USA NT. It's a great pity for a four-time first team All-American (only three Americans in history have achieved this) got such little opportunity to play for her own country.

She also had a baby....u forgot that part. (He should have made her play while she was pregnant.) Why don't you try to make a teeny tiny effort to understand what I am saying before you comment? When I say "Karch gave up on her" I am NOT referring to 2014 when she was pregnant, because a year later she came back to NT. Kid, that does not justify "give up" and I know that. By "give up" I mean ever since Rio she has never been given any opportunity to play for NT, not even any participation in the gym, despite the fact that she had been healthy, and ready to play. If she had any reason that prevented her from being in the USA gym since Rio until she got injured again in October 2017, please educate me. I'll accept and retract my criticism for Karch. Now let's make myself more clear: 1. Anytime when Megan Easy is not available to play on court then she should not. "Not available" includes to injury, pregnancy, or whatever reason we are unaware of. 2. Given the premise that she is ready to play, my argument is that she was not given much of the opportunity that she deserves. Why? Because I could not find a reason not. Is her attacking a reason? She had great performance when she was in China. She was the top scorer from her team of every match that her team played. Yes, every match. Even before her injury in Italy last year, she started all previous matches at Imoco and was decent. Is her passing a reason? Her passing is not great, but very acceptable. Her passing is no worse than MBH, and MBH was the MVP of VNL. Okay is age the reason? Let's talk about summer 2017 since to the best of my knowledge she was not pregnant or injured during that time. Newcombe, Lloyd, Gibby, Murphy are all about her age and they participated either Pam Am Cup or WGP in summer 2017. So what's the reason? I don't know. That's why I criticize Karch by "gave up on her callously and unreasonably".

Also, another two takeaways from today's match, since this Imoco team reminds me of the US NT a lot: 1. Woloz in today's game continued her fantastic performance since last season. No current USA setter has reached her level right now. I am so envious! 2. Fabris is also an amazing Opp. She might not be as dominant as Boskovic or Egnou, but she is efficient. She gets the job done when it's needed. She can also hit fast balls. Envy again. Because the same case goes for the USA NT. We may not have a terminator like Boskovic or Egnou or 朱婷, but I think we need to at least find an Opp who is efficient, not like Murphy who hit negative % in some matches of the WCH. I think that's doable task for our coaches. Even a Murphy from 2013/14 is good enough. But right now we cannot keep allowing an Opp on court who does no passing, little defence, and hit negative % at the same time.

Like I said she has a son and maybe she felt like she could not fully commit as her son is her priority and on the top of that she had injuries. U r just assuming she was not invited... For some people family comes first. National Team is not for everyone. But I get your point. Let's go back to Italian League as we r going off topic.

Yeah, if that's the real case, I have nothing to complain. I am glad she is able to bring about such performance after quite a few injuries. Hope she stay healthy this season and get more champs with this strong Imoco team.
