Novara has lost three matches in the last couple weeks, all in five sets, against Scandicci, Brescia, and Bosca. They were also dangerously close to falling down 2-1 to Bergamo (Smarzek, Courtney, Happ, Mingardi) yesterday too. Definitely seem to be in some kind of funk, especially Carlini and Egonu.

Or maybe the those other teams are finally starting to click? This year the A1 league is probably the most stacked out of any other league in the world. Still you are right...Novara's roster is filled with talent. They should still finish top 3.

After a closely contested first set which Conegliano pulled out, Conegliano is crushing Monza 15-6 in set 2...
Make that 25-13.
Conegliano up 2-0 over Monza in match 1 of the home and home series for the Coppa Italia (not sure what the significance is of this).
Conegliano completes the sweep of Monza. 3-0!

Novara lost against Cuneo and Brescia especially because their coach started with a different line up but the result was terrible as the team went down 0-2 quickly. You can't underestimate any team in Italian League. Btw Novara faced Cuneo today in the QF of Italian Cup and won pretty easily. I expected a better fight from Monza, but Conegliano seems to be back in a very good shape. Adams played one of her worst matches so far,Hancock was one of the best scorers for her team

Man SAVINO DEL BENE SCANDICCI is killing it. Haak and Mitchem are playing really well.

Man SAVINO DEL BENE SCANDICCI is killing it. Haak and Mitchem are playing really well. I loved Mitchem in college and have been rooting for her big time. But every match I’ve seen Scandicci play so far she looked rather subpar, particularly her passing. I’ve only watched 3 I believe, but was she just unimpressive in those matches or has she struggled in general?

Egonu has some serious attitude. She's like Hooker X Tom X Gamova + all of Brazil when they lose. When she's hot she's unstoppable for any team in the world but she's been all over the place the last month or so. Novara needs her to be successful.

When she's hot she's unstoppable for any team in the world but she's been all over the place the last month or so. Novara needs her to be successful. Very inconsistent recently, but still capable of putting on a damn show without any notice. Piccinini plays because of her ball control, but if Egonu is spraying balls all over the place (like she has in their three losses), that's two of Carlini's four on-court attackers that aren't scoring. Makes things very difficult for her. I still think I'd start Plak if the gameplan is to set Egonu as much as Novara is. They don't need dimes from Piccinini to get the ball to Egonu, and Plak is another player that can turn it on and be a world-class terminator.

Imoco and Novara win set one and start most of the bench set 2. Strange.
