Fenerbache and Vakif going to five sets with Bricio and Vargas leading the way. Vakif is vulnerable this year and Fener's signing of Bricio and Vargas looks to be the biggest get this year for any team in Turkey.

Vakif rallies down 6-9 behind Zhu of course to pull out a very tough win over Fener 16-14 in the fifth. Fener will be tough this year.

Eczacibasi has defeated Fenerbahce 3:0 (26:24; 27:25: 26:24). It was not a pretty game. Fener got by on an excellent serve (as they have done in every game so far), but once it gets to play...they collapse.
Larson had a terrible first set (zero point from 6 attacks, and not much better in reception, either), and was subbed by Meliha and never got back in the game. It has been clear even during the off-season that the biggest weakness of Eczacibasi is going to be a setter position. Gamze and Ezgi are only ever going to be underwhelming in the company of star teammates, but maybe Gamze's connection with her spikers will get better with time.

Fenerbahce and Vakifbank are live right now. Fenerbahce is up 2-1, Vakif leads 15-12 in the 4th. Haven't been watching too closely but every time I look at the screen, Vargas gets a monster kill. Link

Tied 2-2 and at 13-13 in the 5th. FB led for most of the 5th but Vakif has crawled their way back.

Melissa Vargas, 19, showing that she is on the cusp of joining Zhu, Bosko, Egonu as an elite attacker. Zhu, still murder on the front row. Krob, showing in the right system she is an elite defensive OH.

Bricio with two costly errors at the end and of course Zhu with the finish. Vakif 25-23. Vargas continues to star for Fener. but they are short on Turkish talent.
