Noticeable change in Beijings offense now that Ding Xia is running it.
Looks like Li Yingyings foot injury that has yet to fully recover could be a problem come finals.
I read a rumor that the reason Yuan Xinyue did not transfer to another team was because she wanted some time off for her body to recover as well as get a head start on training with the NT.

Rachel Rourke is dominating. Too bad she is Australian. USA could use her talents.

Rachel Rourke is dominating. I was wondering who that was! She certainly was dominating that match. Shanghai had no answer.

Rachel Rourke is dominating. Too bad she is Australian. USA could use her talents. Australia is a minnow for women indoor volleyball, they ranked a lowly 30th in world rankings, and being in the AVC, the top teams like China, Japan, South Korea and Thailand have an iron grip on the top slots in the Asian championships. They do better in beach volleyball, but Rourke's talents are wasted as an Australian....she could always consider dual citizenship and getting an extra passport....if that is allowed under Australian rules.

Madi Kingdon is probably the last outside attacker option with no play time. With Rourke as the main offense Beijing needs stable receivers which unfortunately Kingdon is not. I don't think Karch was looking to add her to the NT anyways.
NT related: Originally thought to be training with the national team were Liu Yanhan, Lin Li, Yang Hanyu, Duan Fang, Gao Yi, and Cai Yaqian, but then Lang Ping decided to add 4 players from the youth team to join (Che Wenhan, Chen Peiyan, Mao Junyi, and Chen Fanglin).
China also released their B Team training roster who will take part at this summers U20 World Championship. Majority are born in the early 2000s.

Yeah....Kingdon had some potential during the 2017 WGP but with her being 6”1 she isn’t a stout enough blocker and if you can’t pass decently and ALSO aren’t that ternminal....say hello to the Pan Am cup for the rest of your NT stint. At this point any player who isn’t consistently starting on their pro team should really not be in consideration for a NT position. Especially if said pro team isn’t in a decently competitive league (China, Poland, Germany, Japan)
This eliminates a few players:
Wilhite-Parsons, Kingdon-Rishel, Paige Tapp, Rhamat Alhassan.
A few exceptions (players on top teams that don’t always start):
Karsta Lowe, Lauren Gibbemeyer.
Just a thought.
Sorry to get off topic.
I feel like Beijing and Tianjin will face each other in the final.
Beijing looking really good with the addition of Xia and Mangjie. Dixon and Rourke looking good too.

I have nagging suspicions that Jiangsu is intentionally blowing their chances to lose. They didn't borrow any players from other teams. Their coach said he wanted his players to experience top level play and get better. That all suggests Jiangsu is not playing to win. Why? Maybe NT players on the Jiangsu roster, like Zhang Changning and Gong, could use the extra time to rest and recuperate before NT training starts. I don't know.

The rest of their roster is pretty inexperienced. Jiangsu is a team that focuses on local player development rather than hiring outside aids. Beijing on the otherhand is the type of team that wants to win badly, hiring three foreigners and then transferring Ding Xia and Wang Mengjie.
