It's easy to lose sight because Egonu's presence has such an out-sized influence on a match, but Carlini just seems to be in a better place. She didn't seem to be herself the last two seasons, and she's still not that Carlini, but she seems good now. Novara as a team just seems to be having more fun now then they were a few months ago. Egonu has lost 80% of her stank.

She wasn't perfect but had a pretty good day. She bettered a lot of balls and made quite a few pretty incredible sets against flow at a dead run. She seemed to get more balls up on defense too.

By Sept it's going to be Poulter in the starting 7 and with Karch's game strategy unchanged it still won't make a difference against the top 4. But just maybe he will have an epiphany and watch some game film from Imoco and release Poulter to set her own game. One can only hope.. If only we could release the Club version of Hill for the USNT season.
Here's a link to her match with Monza versus Hancock:

Does anyone know if Naz is coming back to the NT team this year? If so, will she displace Cansu right away or no? I don't like Cansu. I still can't believe the referee didn't call the double touch on her last set to Zhu. The ball came from her hand horribly

I`m so glad Carlini made it to Berlin....cuz next season she`s not even getting out of pool play with Chemik.
There`s a reason why she does not set the middles....she simply can`t. Her sets for them are AWFUL...They can`t even hit as the sets are so low and into the net.

Haha there she is. You’re like the Smitty character on Will & Grace and the rest of us is Karen.

I think she is a shoe in for a setter spot for the National Team if she can get back in shape (which I’m sure she will). I am really pulling for Turkey to qualify for the games but it will be a tall order. Their first (and IMO best) chance will be to upset China in the IOQT. Hopefully Guidetti can bring a good mix of vets and young guns to the table to give them the best chance.

All-Italian Final, ironically about a decade ago they changed bracketing rules to prevent a same-country final (or more than 2 in the Final Four) to avoid Italian teams dominating the entire competition. Just this very year they loosened those restrictions, somewhat to favor Turkish interest$ - but the Italians got through anyways. Italian teams also won the CEV Cup and Challenge Cup, so obviously a very competitive year in Serie A.
This would be Picci's 7th CL title if she wins ("only" has 5 Scudetti).

You all are just as obsessed with him and Carlini, and look just as sad. Please move on. Congrats to Novara!
