As you guys can see. Both Larson (35%) Hill (26%) Robbinson (39%) were very weak offensively. And this is the reason Team USA can`t win and not because of the fast system. And is always the same thing... They play well in regular season and games that does not matter...but whenever there`s something on the line they play like this. So don`t expect Team USA to win Gold in Tokyo....not because of the fast system, but simply because the players "are not that great" or shall we say there`s other players out there better than them. I never blamed the fast system, and I don't think many people here do. Instead, USA playing a fast system is exactly because the players are "not that great". A fast tempo gives them more chance to put the ball through the blocks. When the balls are not fast, the stats of Hill, Larson and Robinson could look even worse. However, the problem with the fast system is, as most people here are arguing, this fast system eliminates the chance of lots of other players who are not fit for this fast system but could've developed to players with big hammers. There are many people in the Chinese forum saying that, Karch (probably Hugh as well) selects players based on whether they fit this fast system. Whereas Lang Ping builds her system based on the players she has. Same point of view. I agree with this argument.

Wow. At 10-7 I thought Vakifbank had it in the bag. Good job Dinamo on a 3-2 victory. Ognjenovic and Goncharova MVP. Do you know of a replay of the Vakifbank game. Thanks

Is there no Final 4 this year? When did CEV change the structure? It's also running really late into the year.

That explains the 3 extra weeks of play.....with domestic league playoffs there are going to be a lot of players entering their NT camps with a lot of recent matches on them.

Novara is very likely to be in the semis and I predict the final is Vakif vs Ezcacibaci, which means Carlini, Robinson, Gibby, and Larson are going to join the NT late.

Ideally Larson and Gibby can take the first week off anyway.

I mean we have players that compete with the best in the world, but based on your criticism, they all are ‘really not that great’ Have you looked into becoming a coach? You’d be great at it.

Every team must have a system. It is impossible to simply go out there and just play volleyball. It would be super messy. Especially at the highest level. Lang Ping has a system as well, in her system every OPP must pass. So every Chinese OPP must learn how to pass if they want to join the NT. Look at Li YingYing.....if this logic was true Lang Ping would have her starting already...but that`s not the case...she gotta learn how to pass otherwise she will be anything but a backup at the most with Chinese Team....as we can see Lang Ping is not using only the best players she has once LYY was on the bench. The reason the fast system was created is based on the players they have available. How many World Tittles has the USA won prior 2014? 0000000.....Part of that is because Americans have never ever ever been big terminators...not in club and not with the NT. ...So the fast system gives them a advantage as they don`t need to hit against triple and sometimes double block. In the game against Vitra...Conegliano players got blocked only 2 ( and these 2 blocks came from Boskovic). TEAM USA system gives them this same advantage. And what big hammers this system prevent them from achieving this next level? Besides Hooker and Larson in the past 8 years or so, which American has been a terminator and consider a world class OPP or OH in club? When they were playing for their club they were not playing under the fast system....so how come none of them were a standout? Larson and Robinson are not playing under the fast system in club....and they can`t score.. With them USA they can`t score either. Sooo Is that hard to see what`s the problem here? They ( and mostly Americans) can`t play high ball and hit against big blockers, they are simply not terminators...it has been like this forever and ever and more ever......That`s why they have never won anything besides the WCH 2014.
