Eventually, for all of us, everything goes dark. Consider the line that is repeated three times at the very end if the Hollow Men by T S Eliot: This is the way the world ends But he also wrote: "So the darkness shall be the light" So from that I am assuming that it is darkest before the dawn, and that there is an Alexis light at the end of the tunnel, and UCLA is back in the sweet 16 next year. Who knew T S Eliot was such an expert on UCLA volleyball! That's not a light at the end of the tunnel. That's the train.

As Wolfgang would say, I don't know who this is. Seriously, I clicked the link and I'm not seeing anything that would indicate she can help reel in West Coast talent. Maybe that's not the purpose of her job, although her title would seem to indicate otherwise.

Maybe Sealy realized that he need to venture to the Midwest to find talent and Meagan has that Midwest connection. Loading your roster with the best Cali has to offer would have suffice years ago but maybe now, he needs to find top level talent elsewhere to supplement what you have in your own backyard. Maybe find the next Brooke Botkin or Holly Campbell. There are lots of high level volleyball players all over America. The PAC 12 have 18 players on their All Confernce team and I think only 6 are from California. Got to expand your recruiting base and Meagan could be of help for that.

He's never had an issue getting kids from outside CA, he's got five right now from out of state. But lately he has been getting the second tier of the local kids. Even a solid amount of the California kids on his team are from Northern California (four of them currently). That's half the team. While missing the top talent in their immediate area.

Instead of taking the second tier local kids, maybe now Sealy can take a top tier one from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, etc.... It give Sealy more prospects to choose from and not have to settle for second tier ones.
I have been wondering if most California kids are playing beach and indoor as youth and are not maximizing their indoor potential by playing both sports.....thus draining the pool of top notch indoor players.
Just a wild thought.

I don’t think Miller, VanWinden and Gates who are all TOP 25 recruits are considered second tier local kids
He can get good players but he either cannot get along or develop them.
Like many I am puzzled by this hire. Neilsen was the reason recruiting was much better and a huge upgrade over Joy Mc

What this hire suggests is that Sealy doesn't think that HE is the problem (and he also believes that he can be the closer).

Does anyone on this board know if she has street cred successfully recruiting Texas and surrounding states? Obviously she'll have to work to find recruits in SoCal and NorCal, Phoenix area, and other nearby areas also.
