Nya Steele, standout setter from UNC-Charlotte is leaving after her freshman season. Big loss for the 49ers. I wouldn't be surprised if we see her stay in the State

Would not be surprised to see her at Wake, NC State, or possibly even App State. The kid is good, was too good to be at UNC Charlotte. The coaches have to be kicking themselves for letting this one walk away.

Why does every wahine fan want every single transfer, I thought Hawaii was pretty good already. It seems like every player listed in the thread someone replies with a theory of why the might end up at Hawaii. I tried to get my daughter to visit the campus when she vacationed there with her boyfriend in December for xmas break. Too busy with hiking, waterfalls and luaus. Tongue-in-cheek reply to stanfordvb (and therefore, to the poster I am quoting). I reside here, near Kona: Na Wahine fans are passionately Nuts about UH vb. Literally Seen NOTHING Like It in my ~55 year association w/ the sport. They, also, dwell in a far-flung past: wistfully remembering NC's from the 80's (and players up until the 2000's, mostly). I am a Cardinal grad-alum and fan. I am probably the only regular, and resident, who Is Not a Hawai'i fan here (although I DO follow them - have done so for around a decade or so): and I have repeatedly stated such on the threads. I try to show an "outsider's perspective" on the team - plus, the state of the sport here - having been a D3 player/AC (Not SU) in my vb career. I - plus my "takes" - have been fairly well-received throughout my 14 months on VT. NOW, hiking, luaus, & waterfalls? I'm In! Comes w/ the territory. Afa 'wanting every transfer': UH had a VERY down year, for them, in '18. The incoming coach (Robyn) inherited a pretty "bare cupboard", relatively, from the retiring Hall-Of-Fame coach, Dave Shoji. They are NOT used to that, here: competing for Big West conference championships is a minimum expectation for the fanbase. Are they going to be on the upswing, soon? ABSOLUTELY, Imo. Yearning for renewed 'glory days'? You Bet. Ergo: "Every transfer"!

Anyone heard any updates on O’Leary? Is she in the portal or back on the roster?

I hope she and her family are okay, and this isn’t due to injury or illness or other calamity.

This makes sense - Florida needed a backup setter. Dilfer transferring into Louisville along with Senior Ace Freshman recruit Shields was likely going to push Martin to 3rd string.

Kaminsky and Pacific setter Gabby Leo played three years of club volleyball together, including a runner up finish in 16 Open at GJNC 2016.
