Sling and Fubu are entire streaming services. I believe that subscribing to Sling TV with the sports packages costs $35 per month. Since I already receive most channels, including Big Ten network, on a different streaming service, another $35 per month to watch a few PAC12 Volleyball matches per month is not viable. Sling TV Orange ($25/mo) + Sports Extra ($5/mo) = $30/mo. Includes 6 Regional Pac-12 Networks, ESPN/2/3/U, SEC Network/+, ACC Network/+, Stadium/2/3. But no BTN. FuboTV ($39.99/mo) + Sports Plus ($8.99/mo) = $48.98/mo. Includes Pac-12 Networks (7 channels), BTN (4 channels), Stadium/1/2/3. But no ESPN, SEC Network, or ACC Network. Most attractive to cord-cutting sports fans, of course, but an option is to drop down to a less expensive non-sports tier (still including local channels), then subscribe to Sling TV for its sports content. I'm in the same boat as you, but relative to BTN - since getting Pac-12 content is most important to me, not getting BTN is a small sacrifice. That's the decision: Between Sling and YoutubeTV, it comes down to whether you prefer Pac-12 content or Big 10-content.

As I continue to consider cutting the cord with DTV, the one thing that prevents me from doing so is losing my sports. Now that I am used to watching BTN, I don't want to lose. As much as I want to watch Pac12 VB, they blew it for me.

On the other hand, BTN probably wants an-arm-and-a-leg, so would drive up the subscription rate.

Direc-TV peaked in subscribers 2 years ago, and they are now down about 7% from that peak. Dish, which is about half as big as Direc-TV, is also losing subscribers. And so are most cable companies.
ESPN is really hurting.
It looks like the heyday of sports TV networks has come and gone, and the PAC-12 kind of jumped in just as the decline was starting.

ESPN is really hurting. It looks like the heyday of sports TV networks has come and gone, and the PAC-12 kind of jumped in just as the decline was starting. It's a market adjustment. They thought sports fans would simply continue to pay up, because they always had. The problem is that by restricting access to only those who can afford to overpay, they are no longer growing, but are shrinking, the fanbase. The same thing happened with boxing, and now only gamblers follow it. The distinction between channel/network "broadcasting" and streaming is disappearing, with a "jailbreak" now happening from the one to the other. I'm one of them, having dumped Comcast for a Roku with Netflix and Sling TV on it. And Comcast doesn't care, because they've realized they can make more money selling overpriced Internet access than cut-rate cable bundles. But watch out for 5G...

This shouldn’t be surprising as ATT bought directtv, so it pretty much negotiating with the same people now....

I researched this a few years ago. And basically, Directv just wanted to pay the same amount for the Pac12 networks as they do with all other networks. But P12 and Larry Scott wanted more money than any other conference, which is why we don't have p12 on Directv.
In terms of Sunday games, I actually love them. I think football is on the decline. Too many political issues as well as officiating and having them not be able get a decent definition of a catch, or where someone can tackle someone, and the numerous off the field assault issues, etc... that is plaguing the game. Doing this on Sunday, and not competing with college football, at least for me, is a smart move. I honestly don't know if it's affected attendance. I'd love to see actual numbers.
I'd also love to see what the athletes say to Sunday game, if indeed as Scott says it's all about the student athletes. Because when you think about it, Friday/Sunday allows for the ability to attend most or all of your classes, but in my college days, lots of weekends were about catching up on homework, and with weekend games like this, it might not allow for that as much.
I also don't buy a lot of what Larry Scott is saying on the canned scripted video. You can even tell he's lying in parts or just don't believe it when he's talking. For him, it seems it's all about the benjamins, and doesn't give a %*$# about the conference other than the money he is making off it.

Will never forget his HUGE announcement to the Pac-12 that he's been retained.
