They were without any fans: "Attendance: 650" USC should never host any kind of post season volleyball tournament again. The attendance is an embarrassment to the sport. A storied program like USC cannot even draw 1000 fans into a post season game? A chance to advance to the sweet 16 and nobody cared. Shame Shame Shame.

What a waste of a season! I hope Mick Haley is feeling vindicated with USC’s decision letting him go. These talented player deserved a better coach. See ya’ll next August. And I suspect a Haley-coached team wouldn't have been swept at home in a 2nd round match like this. True, they probably would’ve won in 5 again.

Can't be much fun playing in an empty gym.

Or they can send the wahine there every year again like old times, since they will bring in more fans.

Crouch did no outreach this year. Every program I know of that is successful does everything they can to engage the fans and alumni. The only event Crouch did this year was at homecoming where he invited alum to show up of which 20 did. At that event he apologized that he had not done more to outreach but he had been too busy getting to know his team. If you want fans to come you need to show them appreciation, not ignore them.

Disappointed for the Women of Troy after such a great start, early season. They have to be one of the teams in the conversation next year, with the players they’re returning (Botkin & Lanier).

I feel like Crouch failed the first rule of coaching: You create a system that works for the players you have. He's a system first guy and spent all year trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. No coach in their right mind tries to push tempo at all costs with inconsistent passing, a true freshman setter, and a grip of hitters who have all proven they can do damage with more traditional tempo. On top of this .... with the setting being such a struggle yesterday, let us not forget that the two setters that led you to an elite 8 and swing away from the final four were located no place else but the BENCH.... What?

Cindy Marina & Reni Meyer - Whalley both set in a 6-2 last season ... neither saw any setting action yesterday despite the setting being borderline dreadful Reni Meyer-Whalley played her regular rotation. We did see Marina for a bit when Botkin, Lanier and Reni Meyer-Whalley missed time for concussions.

I think the players looked tired or exhausted last night. They played poorly last night. It Happens.

I bet they would have drew more fans in SanDiego had the match been played there. Awesome video btw. 😎

I think the players looked tired or exhausted last night. They played poorly last night. It Happens. If they'd finished the season well, I'd tend to agree. But they lost to Washington and Arizona State (Botkin and Meyer-Whaley back) in November. The last weekend (with Lanier back too), they got swept by Utah then struggled against UCLA, who was very bad to finish the season. UCLA only won two games (3-1 vs ASU and 3-2 vs OSU, who only won one game in conference) since Oct 21st yet USC barely beat them. I understand them losing to Washington with Botkin, Lanier, and Meyer-Whaley out but the other games point to problems IMO. It seems like losing in the 2nd round was a continuation of their poor play, not an anomaly.
