UNC wins vs Syracuse 3-1 (25-21, 25-23, 21-25, 25-17). BC looms ahead on Sunday. I am hoping for a win and am glad this match is at our place. Also, not to look too far ahead, but Georgia Tech swept quite convincingly Florida State (-23, -12, -13). I am sooo glad that our match against them this year is also at our place.

BC prevails in five sets to State. We better be ready because Jewel Strawberry is legit.

So given the schedule... the Heels essentially control their own destiny and have the opportunity to finish no lower than 4th, and potentially 3rd depending on how ND plays out.
Quite an improvement from last year and some tremendous growth from where they were at the beginning of the season to now!

A win is a win....whew it was a little clutch, messy, head scratching at times.
1. Our back row defense has tremenedously come along way. Even when our block gets touches or struggles, Mia and Karenna have done pretty well defending.
2. Had an off serve recieve game. That had been very strong for us but it was a weakness yesterday. Hopefully a fluke
3. Skylar Wine is a bench player. She did very well the first set, but then when the pressure turned up, here came the errors. Austin came in and stabilized serve recieve and passing and also took smarter swings.
4. Tontai and Howard are a good middle duo. Good blocking and their offense is adding diversity to our attack. And Destiny....she is finding it. She is taking smarter shots and getting kills.
5. Lauren Harrison is thebomb.com
Need to play cleaner Sunday against BC. BC was up 2-0 and State roared back and lost in 5. BC had some poor serve recieve and a slew of errors. Other than Strawberry, they got dug a lot. We need to serve tough to keep them OOS and slow their offense.

Game day! This is a tough test for our squad with this improving BC team. However, we are also much improved and hopefully have momentum and history on our side (BC has never won in Chapel Hill. In fact, in eleven matches played they've only ever won three sets and the last one was in 2009.) Lets go Heels!

Carolina takes the first set 25-17. Great serving and defense! Also forgot it was Alumni Day/Weekend. Nice to see lots of volleyball alumni in the stands.

Heels take set #2... 25-16
Heels winning every facet of the match.
BC just looks bad... serve/receive, passing, defense overall... and Heels taking advantage.
BC coach looks visibly frustrated.
Heels serve is a real weapon today.

UNC wins! -17 -16, -20. BC made a late push in the end, but to no avail. On to Georgia Tech next!

That was impressive.....to beat BC that bad in every set. Best match we have played all year.
Back to .500 after starting 1-7. 10-10 overall. 7-3 in the ACC.
Ga Tech looms very good....but I am very happy we the growth of this team and our ability to play strong and win.

That was a great match- BC Coach was literally loafting on the bench and looked like he gave up half way through the second set.
