Early speculation (very early) but could all 3 frosh red-shirt? I see where Grote got minutes which makes me believe Sophie will. Powell never took a break last year and could do the same this which tells me Mikkleson could use the year to heal. Emma and Cailin getting playing time leads me to start wondering about Houghton's chances of playing. It would be nice to activate the 3 when Endsley arrives so all would have 4 years together.

Just finished watching the Hawaii game and we gots work to do. I suggest trying Crenshaw at the right side so we have a strong alternative when Drechsel is having an off night. Maybe Shannon takes to it, maybe she doesn't but she has all the tools to make it work, including blocking and intelligent shot selection. There's another plus if it does: Hoffman and Crenshaw can be on the court at the same time. Both are young, talented, versatile players with high volleyball iqs. Both will get better and steadier with more playing time. Let's find a way to use their valuable skills to maximum benefit and give ourselves more matchup options when we're struggling like we did tonight against Hawaii.

Not shocked that UW lost to Hawaii. Hawaii looked really good Sunday night.
What is disappointing however is getting blown out in the 2nd set; and then, after keeping the match alive with a 3rd set win, they were not really competitive in the 4th set.
Hawaii outscored UW 95-73.
Saturday's match vs. Illinois will be telling.

Friday at 2p means an awful lot of UW fans (me) won't be able to watch.

Oh man, don't be talking Illinois already, I still have to recover from this weekends hangover. And to think we still have ILL and WI x 2 on tap has the potential for flooring me for the month.

It seemed like Washington wasn't really in the match. Kara Bajema would bomb away here and there and then there'd be a lull where she's thinking about tulips and a lovely lavender medley bouquet.

I think some Hawaiians threw a bale of Maui Waui in a Volcano the night before to alter their states. Locals are so accustomed to it they didn't have to worry.

You know which state has legalized pot and which has not, right?

I joke but I like Kara Bajema. After a few hits, I thought no one could stop her. I have no idea why she kept hitting into the Hawaii block as the match went on. Maybe the offense got predictable? It was a very strange match to watch, the way Washington just completely folded given that man-for-man, Washington had the superior talent and experience.

Yep, Washington made Oregon's JVs look like a final four team. Hawaii definitely had the mojo for the evening.

Keegan Cook wasn’t even in the match either, more like, “Oy vey, I have to earn my paycheck tonight?”
