Schedule is out: gohuskies.com/schedule.aspx?schedule=470Huskies pretty much spend the first two months on the road. From a readiness perspective, I can’t fault this schedule much. We return everyone and the eye is surely on making a deep post season run. From a fan perspective of a program that has generally been the best attended in the Pac, this schedule blows. First real conference match at home is against Oregon State (and by that point after all the road matches the huskies could be on a big high or a pretty nasty low) No Stanford at home, Oregon is played on a Sunday, Home against WSU is played on Saturday, AFTER the Friday football game so all the cougar fans will be heading home, we play the worst team of the Oregon, mountain, and desert schools on the Friday where attendance would be highest. Seriously, who thought this was a good idea?

School hasn't started for them at that point, so I wouldn't be too surprised if they just stay out there.

Good to see that they did get some consistency in the schedule as far as not going from Friday one week to Wednesday the next or Thursday the week after.
With the exception of the day before Thanksgiving and the Saturday match vs. Wisconsin all home matches are on Friday/Sunday.

Dawgs did well. Special congrats to Powell for moving up to the Pan Am team. "Setters Madison Lilley (Overland Park, Kansas) and Ella May Powell (Fayetteville, Arkansas), who was pulled up from the U.S. Collegiate National Team-Anaheim training program for the Pan Am Cup Red-Blue, combined to set both teams to a 47 kill percent and .327 hitting efficiency. The two setters each led the side to a 2-2 set record." "Lauren Sanders (M, University of Washington) scored three of her CNT Red’s five blocks in two sets." www.teamusa.org/USA-Volleyball/Features/2019/June/28/Red-Blue-Recaps-for-Pan-Cup-CNT-Anaheim

Hopefully Powell secures a spot for the JNT world championship in late June, great experience heading into new season for the huskies!

Meh, on paper, UW is better than all of those teams except Wisconsin. Additionally, if Washington loses 12 conference matches next year, I may just die. I just wish a few of the OOC were home games. I think the only one, thus far, is one of the Wisconsin games. Conceivably, I think, they could lose the 6 to Stanford, Oregon and USC. Throw in 3-4 conference losses for good measure which would make it 10. My guess is a 13 loss season as a worst case scenario. I disagree with this

The first time I saw Powell play I figured she would be an upgrade to Bailey. Bailey always seemed to telegraph her passes whereas Powell, in an amazing way, does the opposite. IMO, it is much tougher to tell where she is going with the ball until it is too late for the opposition.

I don't remember UW switching from Nike to Adidas, but I guess it happened last year. The deal went into effect as of today.

Huge contract. Nike would have had to pay us more than they give Oregon to match it.

That is a really nice/brutal preconference schedule. St. Johns, Hawaii, USD to open. Illinois, Iowa, Creighton, and Wisc. x2 to close.

I'm waiting to see how players perform on the national teams and what not before I give an official prediction. I see where Bustamente joined the USC indoor team the other day, so there are still elements coming into play.
