Today is the third anniversary of the Stanford - Wisconsin regional final match. Please don't give me PTSD. I still have nightmares in my sleep. I sleep amazing. "Hentz will bump set Plummer.... pack your bags Stanford you're going to Columbus" I'd like that quote on my gravestone

Please don't give me PTSD. I still have nightmares in my sleep. My PTSD is still from the 2014 regional final. Let us not speak of the painful past.
Let us think, instead, of the 2019 Big Ten Champions...B1G Setter of the Year...B1G Player of the Year...Molly is back and lookin' smart...Duello, Clark and Dodge are ready to give their all in their last few matches...the Badgers are HOSTING (and Hawaii and Nebraska will be there!). Go and yell as loud as you can.
And banish Inky from your thoughts....

Four badgers named all-region! Dana, Grace, Molly, and Sydney with Dana taking Northeast Region Player of the Year. Coach Sheffield nabbing region coach of the year! So that means that they're AA candidates, and Dana is NPOY candidate, right? Remind me, is NCOY chosen from the regional COYs?

Tiffany Clark has been really good this year Shame she’s not getting recognized for her play.

But Clark does pass the eye test and her team wouldn't be thriving if her Libero skills were in question. She's a great defensive player. Stats don't show everything a great back row player does for a team.

Very sad she didnt get the recognition she deserved.

I don't think the region POY is automatically one of the nominees. Region POY is somewhat new, so I'm not fully sure. All I remember is that all-region USED to automatically mean at least HM-AA. My guess is regionals and Final Four could move a lot of pieces. Not a clue at how COY works.

Clark has been solid this year, but my guess is her stats don't stack up.
For me, I feel and see this more because she anchors the back row. I semi-think we'd be talking more about how excited we are the badgers are still playing without the quartet of back row players that regularly see the court. A libero gets to be very disciplined without false first steps when they are deeply confident that if it's headed towards another defender's area that they'll pop it up.

Stats don't show everything a great back row player does for a team. I agree. She's absolutely essential - her improvement - especially as a passer, but also as a server - has been critical to the team's turnaround. She has also really improved what was one of the glaring short-comings - her OOS setting. But these awards are given according to stats lines, sad to say. Her stats have been diminished a bit because there are three other really capable back row players with her. I can understand why stats make a huge difference, because not everyone gets to see these kids play. Still - important players don't get the recognition they deserve.

But she's a leader and an emotional rock for the team, too. She's become so dependable with her serve...they seem really confident in that rotation, and part of it is her being calm, methodical and relentless.
