Since this was (still is: after resuscitating it) a match thread - therefore with Both fanbases involved, along with other VT'ers; plus, as a former player/coach - I disagree w/ this. I had never watched much of their first match, in Provo, on 08/31. I did so yesterday. I then reviewed the Semifinal match again: paying particular attention to the team's performance w/out M. Miller playing. HUGE difference. Team performance isn't in a vacuum: All components of a team's play affects the bigger picture: like a well-functioning organism-machine. Found this to be a tad bit self-serving; what do you expect: the Best L in the country to NOT do her skill? Afa Jones-Perry crying: she was doing so towards the end of the 3rd set. If you don't/cannot accept losing, DON'T Get Involved with sports-competition. Hambly was correct: Miller Was Missed!Unless you're her therapist, the fact the Jones-Perry may have been crying cannot be attributed to the assumption on your part that she "can't handle losing." Many of the greatest athletes on the planet have shed tears of disappointment. You must live in a bubble if you've never put yourself in a position that risks disappointment that might lead to tears. LMFAO/OMG -- I Was Not going to get into responding; I see one of The Worst NEB trolls 'liked' this: that's All I Need To Know 'bout this fanbase, thereof; but here is the deal, '93': I was replying to the POSTER 'bout Her sentimentality -- directing my "crying" remarks to HER...per her history here on VT....Not to VJP-RJP. Good thing You don't have a history of absolutist, black-and-white ontologies which You seem To Always dispense: out of your bases' "B+W comfort zone". It was a GENERIC comment - which was cherry-picked, plus Completely taken out-of-context (of course, it seems) -- and yet, why change now? I coached/ I played/ I've cried/ I have won titles. You?

You're post clearly refers to Jones-Perry.

You're post clearly refers to Jones-Perry. I’m neither a Jones-Perry/BYU or Nebraska fan, and I read that post the exact same way you did, Nebraska93. I’m finding Dirt really needs to learn a) proper grammar and usage of capitalization, and b) others need to stop responding to him/her, as it seems clear there is no way to have an intelligent conversation. We can only take so many posts with it’s claims of playing and coaching at various levels - just ignore. Now, on topic. This game was awful, Miller was obviously missed but who’s to say that this December Stanford team was ever going to have an issue with BYU? The third match of the season, at BYU, really shouldn’t have mattered 3.5 months later, on any court.

@dirtrider5 I am so confused. The crying comments were directed towards me because of my history of comments on Volleytalk? ? Huh? ? Miller might have made a 2-3 point difference. Stanford was incredible. Hentz was incredible. Best team won. Oh, and for future reference (and since you listed your credentials), @dirtrider5, I’m a former D1 player, IVA professional player, D1 referee, JC, High School, and club coach. And I have a standard keyboard. Really wish you would invest in one.
