Nebraska lost at their own game, serve and serve receive Nebraska 2018 and 2019 will be the best teams never to win a National Championship Nebraska 2005 and 2007 are the best teams to never win a championship. And Texas 2009.

Stanford 2007 / 2008 are absolutely in that discussion.

(Since this is the most recent - plus only - NCAA match 'til August....) Just watched the first set once more - REALLY dissecting it; as I used to do, from experience - three things Really stood out: 1) Service aces by SU (5): without those, Stanford loses said set; 2) SEs by the 'Huskers: some came at crucial times; 3) Hitting errors by NE: esp. a net violation; again, at Most inopportune moments. The match goes 3-1 (at least) to Neb if they had won that set. They outperformed SU, statistically, throughout the match. SEs & SAs Were Critical in the crucial 5th set, also! Nebraska lost at their own game, serve and serve receive Very good points and I agree. " Nebraska lost at their own game, serve and serve receive", + hitting errors So many tangibles for NE - especially with the influx of new players (inexperience), and playing with injuries. Nebraska just didn't "take care of their side of the net".

Just reviewed that third set most carefully: Jenna Gray was setting "dimes", throughout! Even KK(!) and Sunderland were speaking about it (and Karch is NO Gray fan, really)! Sorry, Queenie.

Hopefully she will be even better next year. With Alisha glass Childress is now the new WVB assistant coach at Stanford.

REALLY looked at the fifth set once again. The Entire match rested upon two, essential things: 1) SAs by Stanford in Set 1 (whereas they were otherwise outplayed); 2) SEs by NE (at Crucial times!) in Set Five. SU was outperformed, statistically, for the entire match. Set 3 would have gone to Stanford: no matter what. BUT -- if they had not won that 1st set? -- NO Set 5, kids.

I think the match came down to one statistic. Aces to service errors: Nebraska was a minus six and Stanford was a plus one, I believe. Those seven points were crucial when the total match point differential was one or two points.

Just now, I was re-watching the end of the title match for the Nth time. A few minutes ago, I noticed something that had escaped me these three-plus months. After John Cook's challenge re: McClure's championship winning kill - which was rejected, as everyone knows - the down ref (R2) gave a quick "stink eye" look at him as the coaches started shaking hands and she headed for her locker room. Guess she felt the same about SUCH THE classless act - Completely Upstaging the spontaneous, giddy exuberance of the SU celebration - as many did. A "good egg", Ms. referee!

A good Stanford win, and an unfortunate situation to end the match. But, being a few months back you have probably forgotten that the 'over the line' call was brought to Coach Cook's attention by an Assistant Coach, and being such he made the challenge. And from a back-court view she looked over, but she clearly wasn't from a side view. Just Sayin' - * You probably also noticed by watching so many times that Stivrins was there with the block - and just missed it...

I cannot believe you’re calling anyone classless after the whiteboard incident ....those in glass houses

Anyone knows that any referee who displays any form of partiality, especially on such a public stage, is unprofessional and disgracing the profession. If she did such, her governing board should reprimand her. That type of behavior will get a referee a big black mark-off from future competitions.
