Just tried the link to Bruna's Instagram account, and there is a message that it is not available and may have been removed. She made her account private.

As mentioned, Bruna announced it on her instagram. It was also reported on the Rivals Orange and Blue board and the Illinois 247 board by the administrators of those boards. In other words, not by a random fan but by the ones who run the boards. he Mica is a former student of mine at Monticello. Great kid. I will be shocked if she is not the setter in a 5-1. Feedback that I have gotten from workouts is that she is the one. Thanks for adding your sources for your statement about Bruna being cleared. I am happy for her. I know almost nothing about her situation or personal life, but I do know she has been a student at Illinois for a year now, and seems to be committed to this opportunity. In spite of a couple of other posters suggesting that Bruna would run back to pro volleyball as soon as she could, she seems to be embracing the excitement of U.S. college volleyball and becoming an Illini. I believe she will only become a better volleyball player under the tutelage of this team of Illinois coaches, and I hope she will grow as a person as well. Welcome to Volley Talk, 'combes'. I look forward to reading your comments!

If you look at Bruna’s FB page there is an interesting post about being a PRO and playing college volleyball in the USA. I’m glad to see that she is all in with the Illini. I look forward to seeing her in uniform for the next 4 years

Should we expect Diana Brown to be competitive and get playing time? She seems like a great kid and I was looking forward to see what she can do. I hope she can find a role on the team, would hate to see her transfer. If she hits the weight room and can offer a high level of physical presence, I don't see why not. Yes, this is critical. She is a slight girl and may have trouble building bulk. See Anna Dorn. Mica, on the other hand, has been blessed with a more physical body. When I think about the number of jousts that Poulter was able to win at the net, I fear what might happen with Brown in those battles.

Guys are you really writing off a kid who has yet to play a point? I’m sure both players will want to start and are working hard to be the starter but maybe Illinois fan’s are not seeing the bigger picture that you now have two talented players to choose from..neither are going to be JP so probably not realistic to compare them to her. Let’s judge them when they have had a year of B10 play and see where they are.

It's been a long time since we have had this much talent in the gym.

Two people pushing each other to be the starter should make them better players.

I believe this will be Mica’s 5th year in the USA program at the different levels. She still qualifies for the junior team that she set for last summer on the way to the Gold.

What is the qualification for WJNT. It seems they stopped * after players names in the middle of the middle blocker listing.

I’m not sure. Her mom told me last week that she had another year on the junior national team.

Watching Diana Brown at the NT Tryouts and I have to say, I'm very impressed. She has great court awareness, phenomenal hands, and actually has a great vertical and blocks well. I'm even more interested to see how this Mica/Diana competition plays out.

Two years ago we had one setter on the roster. Last year we essentially had one sub for all three front row positions. We were incredibly lucky the last two years with regard to injuries. Its nice to have some options if, heaven forbid, someone isn't able to play this year.

Diana Brown moves into the White Wave ( the top flight of players)
Anyone have any info who is eligible for WJNT? Kuper has an asterisk but not Brown. Aren’t they the same age? What is the birthday cut off.
