Also in the article, it addresses the injuries to Gabel and Chen. Gabel out for season; Chen long term Edit - Thanks FreeBall for catching my error

Also in the article, it addresses the injuries to Gabel and Chen - both out for season That's true regarding Gabel. While it says Chen has a broken foot and "won’t be able to [practice] anytime soon, it doesn't indicate she is out for the entire season.

I think we are likely to see a traditional layout we have mostly expected....
Sun Kubik Schwarzenblock Stivrins Jazz v miller Knuckles
My notes
Kubik is awesome,
sun, hames and schwarzenblock all MOST IMPROVED.
Sun, much more fine tuned it seems. At least on taking rips. Hames lots more tempo and callie looks like she finally realized she is on the court.
Zuhn is a stud. Densberger is getting to be such a great defensive player.
The 2nd setter is real good too.
Jazz....... meh' Girl needs to step to it already.

I said last year that if Jazz didn't step it up Zuhn was going to be putting pressure on her and that it wouldn't be the first time Cook replaced a multi-year starter at opposite for a freshman he preferred to invest in. People seemed to think I was crazy. If you're a 3 rotation player you need to kill the ball...

Szabo came in as a good blocker and needing development hitting. Just wondering how she is progressing.

Nesh doesnt jump well, and it gets exposed against some high level competition. But she does block well and she still can score decently. The biggest competition Sweet has right now is Sun. She has practiced RS in camp..... with kubik and Davis or Zuhn on left. This is Jazz Sweets potential undoing. So she better get after it. Davis is much improved in the left and could easily take the spot with kubik. So if jazz keeps flubbing cook will make that switch. Zuhn has settled mostly MIDDLE right now. which mostly everyone said I was an idiot or moron for saying would happen (just saying) hehehe . She still could move positions but as she has aged she became quicker, more athletic with improved instincts. Amber rolfzen is practicing with team, and zuhn was shutting her down quite a bit there I guess. She owns her size well. Girl can play and she is definitely in the right hands with cook. Still could iron out lots to get better. But I like her

I like that Zuhn is developing in the middle but would she have had a better chance beating out Sweet than she will beating out Schwarz? Especially if Callie is much improved. Time will tell I guess. Kinda awesome having this many options to sort out, you sorta wish you could foresee how each player would work out in each spot though. With the ability to switch things up, how long of a leash will Cook give anyone who struggles? Excited for this year !

We should find out the starting lineup today. All the starters in the red-white game are usually on one team. I say first starting lineup because there will be changes in the near future

I think we see Jazz on the "B" team tomorrow. Sun at OPP, Davis, and Kubik At OH with Miller as a DS for Davis.

is it possible that hitting RS is less stressful on Sun's back injury, if that is still an issue, just asking. it seems like when Sun really drives it she snaps her back. Maybe different mechanics executed by her on RS. Again just asking.

Maybe different mechanics executed by her on RS. Again just asking. Last season, sun hit .405 from the right, and I think she hit .187 on the left. These numbers were guesses from memory, .....now, she only probably took 50 swing from the right all season, but she sure swings comfortably from there. From conversations today. Sounds like jazz will be RS for scrimmage. Sun sure looks lots improved on offense. Much, much better. She is taking rips.
