I hate Wednesday matches because coach Cook hates them. He really likes the back-to-back weekend matches. I could be wrong but I think he would prefer a Friday-Sunday format. It would make for a busy three day sports weekend. I think Cook wold like a one day break in between matches. I have never heard coach Cook mention anything about Sunday matches. Our conference doesn’t generally play Sunday matches anyway.

Hello Huskers. I've been around for a couple of years, mostly reading your impressive thoughts without including my own. Figured I would start contributing. Looks like we need to settle on OH2, and possibly Sweet...but question- she was prepped to play 6 rotations this year, and was not quite up to snuff. Does anyone think that is still an option moving forward? It’s an option but Sweet needs to make vast improvement. She was afraid to get in front of the ball this past season.

The only way I see that necessary would be if she was needed in the D ball. Similar to what pavan did. Because whether Miller or knuckles gets the libero spot, the other I’m sure cook will want on the floor. The question is, where does the ds play, do they go back to for sweet or for the new OH. can kubik pass well. It will be a passing battle between sweet on the OH2 for backrow because I am certain cook will have knuckles or Miller at ds, they are too good not too.

I am predicting a huge season for Lexi sun in 2019. I don’t know why but I have a feeling she is gonna be stellar with cooks ability to fill up left sides potential . Idk why but I'm feeling the same thing too. She just need to work on hitting and passing.

She is a fantastic blocker, no need for extreme strides there, maybe little tweaks. Her defense is also pretty scrappy but she could work on location of her digs.

I think Sun will make great strides over the next several months and be a much improved player come August.

I just do not see Sweet as a 6 rotation player so either Miller or Knuckles will play back row for her as the other with be the new Libero.

Thoughts: I believe Jazz was dealing with an injury last season, and you couldn't sub Anezka in because of her injury. I thought Coach Cook at the beginning of the season didn't know if Lexi was going to be able to play back-row or not while she was recovering from her injury - hence the idea of the training of Jazz to play back-row. Jazz is a warrior, and will be just fine.

Jazz had such a big problem siding out on the left side that Cook put in Capri Davis for one rotation. She's probably been hitting on the right side her whole life because she's left handed. It's probably better to keep her there. I think the new setter was a little bit of the reason that a lot of people struggled last season. (Except really Stivrins--Foecke turned it on as the season went on) There was a time I thought Annika Albrecht was hopeless in the front row and look what the coaching staff did with her. (Along with her hard work) I see a bright future for Sun as well. All the tools are there.

Because of Sun's injury she had very little time to work on her game. Give her winter S&C, a beach season, a spring season, and summer S&C and she can be much improved.

Can I put an early word for a new PA announcer in Devaney? It's pretty embarrassing when our own PA announcer doesn't know the difference between a back row setter and a net violation.
