As we draw closer to preseason, I figured it was time to start making predictions and conversation. Here are my predictions for the ACC based on what i have seen and heard so far. Not basing off of last uear but on roster and spring and summer training and info. 1 and 2 were fairly easy and i think 3 through 7 could mix up in that area.
1. Pittsburgh 2. Louisville 3. Notre Dame 4. FSU 5. UNC 6. Duke 7. NC State 8. Boston College 9. Miami 10. Syracuse 11. Clemson 12. Georgia Tech 13. Virginia Tech 14. Virginia 15. Wake Forest

Good list though.

Good list though. I agree. Only reason i went w Pitt was experience. We have to see how fast the youth of Louisville grows and matures. I really think that 3 through 7 also could be mixed up but still in that range. My dark horses are Notre Dame, UNC, and NC State.

My dark horse choice is FSU, I think they are going to finish top 5, though it may not seem that way after opening the season with tough games against Wisconsin and Minnesota. How they apply those lessons will shape their season.

Does Wake even win a game this season in the ACC?

Long time Georgia Tech alum here, I used to be play on the GT men's club team and called lines for Shelton. I'd kind of lost contact with the program, can anyone tell me what is going on there? Kind of fallen off the cliff.

UNC is going to scratch and claw their way to the top of this conference by seasons end, behind Atherton's ninja setter skills.

Can UNC be UNC again. Notre Dame core is solid. NC State is a wild card, picked up a big transfer in Rowland but has 0 setting experience.

UNC is jumping in with both feet on August 30/31, guess we will see what the team is made of and what their potential will be for this year. I think they will be in fighting and βWe have something to proveβ mode. Should be fun to watch

UNC has a lot to prove to get back to being "UNC." But they look good, very good when I have seen them over the summer. It is amazing what adding Lauren Harrison has done as well as Cox being fully healthy. Skyy Howard and Parker Austin will be in the mix for ACC FOY awards. UNC and Minnesota will be an interesting match. UNC almost got them last year. We have definitely seen Mike make a bigger impact during the off season since he is full time now and not tied to club duties like last spring.
UNC has the potential to have all starters be top 100 prep players and for 4 of the 7 (including libero) to be top 50....that does not even include Austin who would be right up there. I think the pieces are there to challenge the top dogs this year. Just have to see the chemistry piece but that seems better to.

bceagles.com/roster.aspx?roster=419BC might be starting to ramp up with the addition of McCaa. Big Florida pipeline, but maybe some hints of a Midwest one as well, especially through a good club like Northern Lights. bceagles.com/schedule.aspx?schedule=685Surprised they're going to get to play Oregon in preseason... but hey, great exposure for the program! I'll try to get footage of the Northeastern and Harvard games. I also want to get some of their home games, especially Pitt. I'd love to watch vs UNC, but it looks like they play each other once and it's in Chapel Hill. FSU would be super fun but, like UNC, only played once and it's on Tallahassee. As someone who follows the Gophers, I wanted to see how Jasmyn Martin would do. Bummer. Will BC have what it takes to get in the Bubble Team conversation? Really don't know, but based on the last six years or so, they seem to be going in the right direction. In the past I watched them get annihilated with little fight in them. I think that's changed now.

I watched very few ACC matches last year, but I did see UNC vs Florida State on ESPN U and the D on both sides reminded me of this ... Ball recovery was absolutely abysmal on both spikes and tips. The setters were running around like headless chickens.
