Six of UD's 2019 opponents, including exhibition foe Pittsburgh, participated in the 2018 NCAA Volleyball Championship and all advanced to at least the second round of play. Five of those teams finished last season ranked or receiving votes in the final AVCA Coaches' Poll: No. 11 Florida (Regional Semifinals), #12 Michigan (Regional Semifinals), #14 Pittsburgh (Second Round), #23 Missouri (Second Round) and RV Louisville (Second Round). Cincinnati was the sixth 2019 opponent to reach the second round of last year's national tourney.
"This pre-conference schedule will be one the most challenging I can remember," commented Horsmon. "We will get to see who we are early, and we are looking for players to step into big roles that the three graduating seniors filled this past year."

That's a brilliant OOC schedule in RPI terms for Ohio State. Only one of their opponents had a sub .500 record in 2018 (Duquesne) Seems like a dangerous RPI schedule to me for a team like Ohio State. Unless I'm missing something, they lose their starting setter and add no offensive weapons except perhaps Gonzales and who knows how she'll adjust to the college game. OSU needs to find 16 wins next year to make the tournament, playing a bunch of teams who are used to winning more often than not in the preseason seems dangerous for a team that won 3 matches in conference last year.

You’re 100% correct. I thought the same thing. While their RPI will be great, they run a danger of missing the tournament because of lack of conference wins. I think their preseason OOC looks better on paper than they are though, making it winnable games. But it’s a moot point if they can’t beat anyone in the B1G. I didn’t look into their conference sched, I’ll have to see how their B1G slate looks too, since its so unbalanced

Here's Dayton's schedule in non-press release form. daytonflyers.com/schedule.aspx?path=wvball

Curious, for any of those that went to the Final Four last year, how much were tickets for both games? Is there a package and does it cover the UA All-America Match??
Thanks in advance!!

Final four tickets don't cover UA match but that is I think $10. If you buy ahead you can get corner FF tickets for maybe $60 each or so. Middle sideline tickets or tickets on the ends will be more
