Bows are playing with a chip on their shoulder this year, they'll need this cuz their toughest opponents will be road matches. Can't wait for the Big West schedule to begin, that's when we see fireworks. they weren't playing with a chip on their shoulder last year?! My eyes will be glued to the computer, watching it and a bowl of popped corn and a drink....

The Warriors are taking the battle to everyone’s else’s house this year, be ready it’s a different team with something to prove. Senior WARRIOR driven!!! well, actually it's pretty much the same team, but older and wiser perhaps lol ya gotta love the narratives of Hawaii fans I mean, seriously Irvine doesn't have something to prove? , like proving they belonged last year, I mean c'mon guys!! does anybody really believe Hawaii players really end up with more motivation than LB or IRvine, just because of some conjured up 'we were dissed' factor These teams are all playing for a TITLE, that's the motivation.......and yeah like Michael Jordan if you want to conjure up your 'enemies' and 'demons' to motivate oneself, hey whatever works!! those Irvine - Hawaii matches will be epic!! does anyone REALLY think Irvine will have less of a chip on their shoulder to prove they are better?? they have the stench of going 1-2 vs. Hawaii last year, and not beating Ohio State in the national semis those LB - Hawaii matches will be epic!! does anyone REALLY think LB doesn't have a chip on their shoulder to make a legacy, and those guys still have the stench of 2 NCAA ignomous semi-final exits etched in their heads, especially the sweep from BYU in 2017, and that loss in Hawaii that kept them from immortality last year. I mean, seriously we can talk about past failures and demons and enemies........but the reality was LB was staring directly at another NCAA nightmare in the NCAA semis in that 4th set last year vs. Ohio State with 6'10" Haines serving downward bombs down their throat and a cool confident Szerzen with two titles in his pocket, with two years of serve-receive LB meltdowns to overcome. THen UCLA two nights later serving them off the court sets 2-4. those - LB/Irv/SB matches will be epic!! does anyone REAALY think SB doesn't have a chip on their shoulders to prove they belong?! whatever players need to do or conjure in that heat of the moment when the margin for wining and losing I still remember Gasman in 2017 MPSF finals sprawled on the Pyramid floor late in their loss, his glasses having flown off, pounding his hand on the floor in frustration what happens in that moment of truth in sports late in the set with history on the line tying to beat the snot out of that other guy, that's what make's it so compelling, especially compelling. chips on a shoulder?......these guys all have chips on their shoulder, and carry some major cocky ego desires in their head. BWCT finals this year. LB will be up 14-13 in the 5th vs. Hawaii.......now what is gonna happen on that point with 7000 deranged Islanders screaming in the background

I'm sure they do. Hawaii after the season ended and into this season have just been more vocal in expressing it in the media, to fans, in practice, and on social media. That is what we are reporting and confirming to the people here that dont follow Hawaii volleyball as close up and immensely as we do. Big West play will be amazing and with us hosting the tournament, I am happy that I will be able to attend. And let's see them all Duke it out!

Time to invest in a lot of Ben-Gay due to all of the chips on all of the shoulders...

I'm secretly hoping Pepp loses to Grand Canyon, so for the First time in the History of men's volleyball, the Big West will have teams ranked #1-4. Well, hope no one falters this weekend.

I have already requested for work off on the 20th! I will be there for sure. It’s gonna be an epic BWT with packed SSC. All Hawai’i fans knew what went down last year, it’s been all over local sports media last year. This BWT will have a greater athmosphere than the post-season tourneament, quote me on that.

“I still remember Gasman in 2017 MPSF finals sprawled on the Pyramid floor late in their loss, his glasses having flown off, pounding his hand on the floor in frustration”
Isn’t this Hendrik Mol?

Yeah Gasman doesn’t wear glasses, that was Mol. As defending champs, LB has a bullseye on their backs so everyone’s gunning for them. UCI got the golden ticket into the final four even though they got beat down by the Warriors in the BW tourney, so yeah, Hawaii’s got a massive chip on their shoulder and rightly so.If last season revealed anything it’s that Hawaii can’t leave the decision in the hands of the NCAA selection committee. If they want a postseason bid, they need to win out at home, beat the Cougars in Provo, split these tough BWC matches on the road and need to win the conference tourney at the Stanley to guarantee an invite. Folks may think this is overkill, but remember what happened a year ago.

The Big West is dominating men’s volleyball this year. Too bad there’s not enough teams to warrant regional playoff system. The top 4 Big West teams are killing butt this year. The closest thing to a true top 4 tourney will be the BW tournament.
