That was a really good year for the PAC. Oregon #10 seed with Brenner, Arizona with a really good season led by Kingdon, ASU making the second round, OSU making the third round, Simpson at Colorado, Utah taking it to 5 with NE in the post season... Not 100% sold on that being a great year for the PAC. Hard to be when SC is way down and UCLA is a one-woman team. DIdn't help that UW was injured in the post-season and Oregon closed the year really poorly (and was kinda lucky to get a soft subregional). That was definitely OSU's best team though, and they were really tough to play against with that much size at the net and MK on the left. Was that the year Cal fell off a cliff or was that 2013? In 2011, Cal was 27-7. In 2012, they were 15-16. In 2013, they were back to 18-12 and made the 2nd round of the tournament. Then they walked off the cliff in 2014 and finished 10-20. In 2015, 9-22. 2016, 9-21 Then starting a very slow climb upward... 2017, 13-18 2018, 15-16

Hancock is the best server of the decade. That’s all. Best server: check good enough setting to win two nattys: check defense pretty good: check blocking: someone can fill me in Hancock accolades. back to back titles, 3 time first team AA, 1 NPOY vs Plummer, meh Plummer has 2 out of 3 titles, 2 NPOY, and best in tournament honors. You need to leave

Plummer and maybe it's not close.
I can't count players that had maybe one or two good seasons (Wilhite, Nwanebu).
Could be Carlini if she had more accomplished teams.
Same thing for Vansant and hard to forget how her team bowed out in the Semis against Penn State.
Wow. I now have a deepened appreciation for the players in the 00s.

Yeah, that makes sense. PAC records really show how severe the drop was: 2010: 15-3 2011: 16-6 2012: 9-11 2013: 10-10 2014: 2-18 2015: 3-17 2016: 3-17 2017: 4-16 2018: 7-13

You need to leave best player of this decade, maybe. she is easily top 2 because she can play any positon and still make an AA team. But I would still choose Hancock in a heartbeat because her serve is probably the best in the last 1000 years and another 1000.

I think Klineman and Lloyd have as good a case as any as the best players to play in the 2010s, but they only had one season in it so probably not really relevant for this award. The late 00s was just unsurpassed VB among the top teams.

I am not saying she is better than Plummer, but Samantha Bricio should be considered one of the top players of the last decade.

IMHO, basing off of NPOYs,AAs,NCAA titles and basing off of 2010-2018 etc, so don't hate me.
1. Hancock 2. Plummer, 1 season to go 3. Hunter/Foecke
Toss-up after that between many players

Hunter/Foecke Toss-up after that between many players I chose to interpret "this decade" as 2009-2018. I didn't even have Hancock in my top-10. Not a hater, I actually loved watching her. And that serve. Mercy, was that something to behold. As I said before, my top-10 since 2009 (In no real order) would be Plummer, Hooker, Carlini, SSS, D. Cuttino, Hodge, H. Washington, Vansant, Inky, Eckerman. Maybe Hentz as #11. Your list is utterly lacking in any sense based on your own criteria of NPOYs, AAs, NCAA titles. Plummer matches Hancock on 2 of your 3 criteria and surpasses her on the 3rd. Plus, as you state, has one more year to go. Between the 2, it's Plummer by a sizable distance.

Edit: JK just read "no particular order" --- Because the criteria for this is so vague (personally, I would define "decade" as 2010-2018), I'll offer my inputs (top 3) based on varying "criteria": NCAA player who played any NCAA volleyball between 2009-2018Plummer, Hodge, Hancock NCAA player who played 2 years of NCAA volleyball between 2009-2018 (same as at least 1 or 2 years of NCAA volleyball between 2010-2018)
Plummer, Hancock, Inky NCAA player who played any NCAA volleyball between 2009-2018 (incl. international play considerations)
Hooker, Hooker, Hooker ^this is based mainly off of NCAA awards and "performance" (i.e. how dominant a player was/is). Carlini would be a close 4th behind Inky for me (btw don't @ me, I still think Carlini is a better setter than Hancock and has a bigger future ahead of her) but Hancock was undeniably more dominant in college.

Why pin point on one match. People act like Plummer is perfect in every match. I'm going to say its probably between Plummer and Hancock, but they did different things for their teams, so perhaps co-best player
