It's the plummer love fest, what a shock. Is she as great as Barboza? "Bitter", party of one, your table is ready.

Even though the big has been the dominant conference in the last 5 to 10 years you homers still just can't seem to think of one or two players from the big that might fit into this equation.

Hancock has been mentioned in just about every post (and with good reason). Plummer is the only player in this period to win NPOY twice and she's only played 3 seasons total. Barring injury, she will probably be a 4 time 1st team AA. How many players have accomplished that?

I am not saying she is better than Plummer, but Samantha Bricio should be considered one of the top players of the last decade. Facts. She is better than Plummer though.

Internationally, definitely Zhu Ting.
Within US, Jordan Larson or Foluke Akinradewo.
If only in NCAA, I'd vote for Kathryn Plummer.

ARE WE TALKING COLLEGE?
ALSO DECADE IS 10 YEARS ... CENTURY IS 100... SO HODGE, HOOKER, KIM W. wouldn't apply if we were talking college... hodge and hooker were 09 last seasoners...
Alix Klineman 2010 is stellar Bricio was pretty gosh darn incredible Hancock was a threat from the service line, second ball dishing and attacking (solid candidate) Lutz as a right side (4 time all american) that's pretty dominating and consistant Vansant was lethal Inky was an animal Foecke is clutch Lichtman was a triple double machine
it's pretty hard to say because the high school classes of 2005 and 2006 were some of the highest level volleyball players to play at the college game(college and international and usavolleyball success wise too those two classes turned USAvolleyball around) so after 09 (hodge and hooker) no one really stood out for a bit... i think this years junior class is high level all around

No player was more impactful than Hancock. She could (and would) completely change the course of a match from the service line and would've been in a position to win three titles if not for that ankle injury in the 2012 semi. In fact...
2010-2019: Hancock 2000-2009: Hodge 1990-1999: Cacciamani
Hmm... coincidence?

Plummer could be the first ever to make it three years in a row, as AVCA POY. It's exciting, considering all the great players that came before her.

That says more about the state of college volleyball today (compared to the last decade) than it does about Plummer, IMO. Players like Hodge, Hooker, Tom, Willoughby, Nnamani, Ross, Fawcett, Glass, Pavan, Larson, Akinradewo, etc. would have all been candidates to win multiple NPOY awards if they were playing in this decade vs. last.
