Depends which era of volleyball you are talking about. Since the turn of the century in the rally scoring era, it's Foluke Akinradewo, and I'm not even sure #2 is that close.

Agree on many of these above. I would add Robinson to the list (assuming we are talking college and not club) She wasn't even the best player in her own year

After Akinradewo....it probably lands at a setter. Carlini comes to mind or Lloyd (but she really didn't get that good until the 2nd half of her career at Cal).... maybe one of the graduating crop of setters people are high on- Poulter/SSS. I'm generally biased towards the prior decade of volleyball as I think the play at the highest levels were better so I'm gonna give my setter nod to Spicer. An argument could be made for the attacking phenoms- Klineman (who would be my pick in this category), Gordon, Hooker (but, like Lloyd, she really was only crazy good the last part of her career)....most of the better all around players have won championships.

I've never won a championship. Don't know what that feels like. I have to use my imagination.

Speaking of this, does anyone else think it's odd that the current crop of projected starters for the national team have almost no NCAA champions?
