Agree on many of these above. I would add Robinson to the list (assuming we are talking college and not club) She wasn't even the best player in her own year Yes, Vansant was player of the year that year and obviously the coaches thought she had the better season. However, Robinson was an Olympian and continues to be part of the elite group on our national team. I wasn't sure what the question was getting at "best player in college to not win a champtionship" or best player "olympic level" to never win a championship. I am not saying that Robinson was the best olympic caliber player to not win. Just think she is somewhere on the list. If I had to go with one player, I would probably go with Hooker. I haven't been following volleyball long so don't have comparisons from more than a decade ago, but I would say that she was darn awesome as an athlete.

I would have to second that. One of the greatest offensive seasons from a left side ever, albeit in the same year Nnamani was also insanely good offensively as well and was incredible in leading her team to a national title. Gordon was also an elite back row player and very tough server. They just had rotten luck with injuries when she was there, which held them back. I knew Taylor Reineke as a freshman was a legitimately good blocker at this level when she blocked Gordon on a good set. That didn't happen often. The Buckeyes won the match, however.

Wanna add Kanoe Kamana’o Come on, there are a lot of 5'8" setters in the history of division 1 volleyball who could run their offense almost flawlessly and also be a shut down type blocker.

So many great players who didn't win a championship; a lot of the ones being mentioned didn't even come close -- national runner-up or national semi-finals.

Agree on many of these above. I would add Robinson to the list (assuming we are talking college and not club) She wasn't even the best player in her own year IMO: Kelsey was the 'best' player in the 2013/14 Season - although slightly. She just didn't win the 'NPOY'. If NE goes deeper into the tournament, I think there would of been a different outcome. OFFICIAL NCAA STATS 2013/14 Season.PLAYER - Set Kills Err Att Tot At% -As - Ac Se - Digs -Re -BS BA BE - Points -BHe :Vansant 116 511 127 1,201 .320 -16 - 33 25 - 327 - 32 - _7 74 _4 - 588.0 -_3 Robinson 119 530 146 1,206 .318 -45 - 32 60 - 396 - _9 - 15 63 10 - 608.5 -_2
