I don't need any awards. The respect of my peers is more than enough. Although a gift cert to Dave & Busters is appreciated.

I don't see the point in freezing them. It's just putting off the disposal issue. If you put it off for 100 years, it's probably not going to be your problem anymore.

Snakes and gators in one... Two of my children have fallen in love with northerners who are terrified of gators. Also, there are only four species of venomous snakes in peninsular Florida. Learn to recognize them and you will be fine. For the record, I've only seen two venomous snakes in Florida and one of them was already dead. A snake would fix your rat problem Wolfgang

I'm afraid I'll make a wrong turn somewhere and end up in the Everglades.

A snake would fix your rat problem Wolfgang It's not really a problem. They haven't been destructive, as far as I can tell. And, they get killed somehow. I hear death throes all the time on the roof. Could be a cat.

I'm afraid I'll make a wrong turn somewhere and end up in the Everglades. Valid concern. The gators i see around here are not that bad but the everglades gators are enormous. My youngest child caught one while fishing off our dock. THAT was interesting.

Cleaning drains -- every three to six months I have to clean the master bath and sink drains. It is a fairly easy process, but the stuff that I pull out isn't pretty.

I only mess with the clean-outs once a year. I don't clean the individual sinks and drains. I've got mesh drain covers placed on all sinks in my entire house. No hair or solid debris ends up in the plumbing:

You can't use those things with most bathroom drains. Because they all have the built-in stoppers.

You can't use those things with most bathroom drains. Because they all have the built-in stoppers. For the showers, we have a rectangular drain. They don't sell mesh drain covers in that shape. So, I made my own.
